Therefore you should always start by acknowledging that the feedback is well received and appreciated, even if it is negative. Secondly, you don't have to respond to feedback. Take it, digest it, reflect it. In a true feedback situation, there should be no expectation that you need to defend yourself.

Every feedback - Good or Bad is an opportunity to learn. While good feedback motivates us and acknowledges the hard work, the negative feedback is the best way to learn from mistakes and know what needs to be changed.

I found that the best approach to just get started with giving more respectful feedback is to answer the following three questions. Firstly, highlight the positive aspects of the situation and what went well. Secondly, describe the negative aspects and what did not go well. Lastly, suggest what could be done differently the next time. While providing feedback, it's important to use "I" sentences, focus on specific behaviors or actions rather than the other person's character, and describe your perception of the situation.
