Not only that software, and AI, is capable of increasing an architectâs productivity up to a level that technicians and technologists become unnecessary. In my career I have worked for two practices that only employed architect and those training to be architects. My own practice is just me with no staff.

Drafting services are essentially "unlicensed architectural services", illegal in most municipalities in the US. Buying "drafting services" without an architect at the helm will have poor results... Sustainability and drafting have no connection; one is a "design theory" and the other is a technical service.

Drafting services donâ€™t have to be fluent or professional design. The professional architect or engineer is the one who has to be as he/she is the one responsible for the end product and seals the documents.

Simply buying "drafting services" will result in a poor product. You need a LOCAL architect!!! "Drafting services" are typically unlicensed people with no knowledge of your municipality or CLIMATE!

Hmm, first I would comment on the question. I would not consider using a "drafting service" to design anything! I would go to a design professional who has credentials and bona-fide experience in this. A drafting service would be hired to produce drawings, but under NO circumstances would they be selected to design. Nothing against the drafting service, I use them myself. Whether or not they have experience having drawn such projects in the past has zero relevance. Use a designer to design.

An architect who is legitimately committed to sustainability will understand how to design with their climate using local materials. Have a conversation - you will know whether or not they are selling snake oil or not. Ask the architect how much they camp, how much time they spend outside, where they source materials from, if they understand air and vapor processes, and if they understand thermodynamics, particularly solar admission/rejection/capture. LEED has been a waste and there is no need to participate in that program if you are seeking truly sustainable design.
