It's helpful to run leadership development programs throughout an organization. However, suppose the senior executives choose not to participate. In that case, participants will not take it as seriously, there will be an underlying sense of resentment within the organization, and the ceiling will be lowered as far as the company's growth opportunities are concerned. Senior leaders can talk the talk, but they must walk the walk as well.
