It’s very important to know about your target audience and decision maker before writing the proposal. Because if the decision maker is quality focused you should add all the details of your value addition in it which will make your proposal bit longer. But if the decision maker focus is price. Then copy paste thing will work and just add a good commercial value in the end to get the PO

A winning proposal is not possible without knowing the competition. First know your competition is playing on quality or price. If quality increase the length and if price play on the price

Highlighting your strengths or USPs within the proposal is paramount. Why should they chose you? What solution can you offer them? Any ‘weaknesses’ identified during this process should be addressed and improved on (where possible) as part of ongoing business continuous improvement; eventually turning these into future ‘strengths’.

One must-do thing is to never share a proposal with your client in an editable format. Ever! It has to be in a non-editable, pdf format so that there is no room for modification by anybody except you. This will ensure that there is no forgery and miscommunication.

Ideal is the content well received by the buyer and document is well drafted and easily communicate the essence of the proposal with all question’s answered . It should also have enough visuals to clearly communicate the solution proposed . Hence it could be from 10-15 pages to 30-40 pages and depends on how easy or difficult the solution is and duration it takes to build .
