You should have about 3 solutions out of which one will be selected- the one that solves the problem effectively and efficiently the most. It is important that this solution is validated via prototyping, piloting , A/B test etc and feedback from the affected stakeholders solicited.

In my experience one of the most critical steps to understanding the challenge is to be extremely diligent in investigating not only the evident problems but looking deeper to surface the issue that could arise with the existing designed solutions. Most issues display themselves partially like an icebergâ€¦. Need to dive in prior to proposing any type of new design. Moving forward without relevant information will create a lot of waste during the development process.
