As much as I hate to pigeon hole or truncate any creative voice, I do think there are huge benefits to specializing in certain areas. I know from experience, when I look to hire, say a director of photography, if I see work that focuses on what we hope to accomplish (could be surfing, cars, travel, interior food, etc) there is truly a comfort level if they have already done that work.
