For example, for me i can dedicate the first half of the sprint to focused action on delivering tasks and achieving goals. Then, allocate the latter half to retrospective meetings where the team reflects on what went well, what didn't, and how to improve processes for the next sprint. This way, i maintain productivity while also continuously improving your workflow.

Retrospective is an important event in scrum where we inspect and adapt. It is very important in the retrospective event to jot down the improvement areas and action atoms identified during the meeting and consider introducing at least one improvement area in the next sprint backlog and also assigning the action atoms to members of the team to review or update them in the next retro. Also, discussing action atoms previous sprint is very important to increase the productivity. Time box the event for consistency and focus.

I agree, retrospectives aren’t just a way to look back and receive feedback, but more importantly a way to implement changes to increase quality and productivity. In order to achieve that goal, specific action items should be captured and assigned to individuals. In addition, it shouldn’t stop there, follow-ups should also be planned to ensure timely execution of the assigned actions.

In my opinion the retrospective is the most important part of any kind of environment. It’s the space to reflect and to decide what to change. It’s very important that actions can be implemented and are rather short term than long term. From my experience if there is a big action that will take long time to apply, it should be rather broke down into smaller pieces and usually there is an improvement after the first step. Also very important is that the retrospective is the safe space to speak up. If you see that people are reluctant to speak up, try to understand why and even remove people from the retrospective who may be the blocker to speaking up. If you are that person, it applies to you also. It gives a message that you care.
