Felieton dotyczy tak zwanej bibliometrii. Korzystając z faktu, że ten właśnie felieton zajmował 1001 miejsce na liście artykułów napisanych przez autora - podjęta została dyskusja na temat wartościowania dorobku (dowolnego: naukowego, popularyzatorskiego, publicystycznego itp.) Wskazano, że sama liczba publikacji nie stanowi właściwej miary wartości wkładu intelektualnego określonego autora, gdyż ważne jest, czy napisane książki, artykuły czy nawet tylko felietony - miały jakiś oddźwięk u czytelników. Miarą tego oddźwięku jest liczba cytowań. Jeśli jakaś praca jest często cytowana, to znaczy że silnie oddziałała na czytelników. Miarą ilości i stabilności cytowań jest tzw. indeks Hirscha. W momencie pisania artykułu (2010 rok) indeks ten był w Polsce mało popularny, więc wyjaśnienie jego znaczenia w przedstawianym artykule było ważne i potrzebne.

Analysis of a random sample of bibliographic records from OCLC WorldCat finds that the great majority of items in WorldCat are held by very few participating library, and that a power law relationship exists between the number of libraries holding an item and the number of items with a given level of shared holdings.  The findings provide a context for interpreting holding levels in WorldCat with regard to the proportion of widely shared items and the characteristics of items at various ranges of holdings.  Used with other quantitative and evaluative measures, these findings will assist librarians in assessing their collections.

Web of Science (WoS) and Google Scholar (GS) are prominent citation services with distinct indexing mechanisms. Comprehensive knowledge about the growth patterns of these two citation services is lacking. We analyzed the development of citation counts in WoS and GS for two classic articles and 56 articles from diverse research fields, making a distinction between retroactive growth (i.e., the relative difference between citation counts up to mid-2005 measured in mid-2005 and citation counts up to mid-2005 measured in April 2013) and actual growth (i.e., the relative difference between citation counts up to mid-2005 measured in April 2013 and citation counts up to April 2013 measured in April 2013). One of the classic articles was used for a citation-by-citation analysis. Results showed that GS has substantially grown in a retroactive manner (median of 170 % across articles), especially for articles that initially had low citations counts in GS as compared to WoS. Retroactive growth of WoS was small, with a median of 2 % across articles. Actual growth percentages were moderately higher for GS than for WoS (medians of 54 vs. 41 %). The citation-by-citation analysis showed that the percentage of citations being unique in WoS was lower for more recent citations (6.8 % for citations from 1995 and later vs. 41 % for citations from before 1995), whereas the opposite was noted for GS (57 vs. 33 %). It is concluded that, since its inception, GS has shown substantial expansion, and that the majority of recent works indexed in WoS are now also retrievable via GS. A discussion is provided on quantity versus quality of citations, threats for WoS, weaknesses of GS, and implications for literature research and research evaluation.

A library without digital resources is like a king without a kingdom. But sad stories continue in most of the developing countries specially the night mares is a reality for the libraries of Bangladesh. Most of the libraries (including national, public, academic, special) in Bangladesh have no electronic/digital resources or very limited resources. In this reality, aims of this paper are to explore the present status of digital resources in different types of libraries and as expected the findings were shocking. As this paper was based on secondary resources, the findings shows that there were no digital or electronic resources available at the collections of national and public libraries, some digital resources were found in case of special libraries and a notable number of resources were found in the academic and university libraries though still the collections need to be increased in numbers, in that regard this paper concludes with some specific guidelines to increase digital resources in university libraries.

This paper compares the h-indices of a list of highly-cited Israeli researchers based on citations counts retrieved from the Web of Science, Scopus and Google Scholar respectively. In several case the results obtained through Google Scholar are considerably different from the results based on the Web of Science and Scopus. Data cleansing is discussed extensively.

The project aims to study the Microsoft Academic Graph, a scholarly citation database, by comparison with three competitors in the field: Web of Science, Scopus, and Google Scholar. Openness, transparency of data gathering and processing, and completeness of data including the global unique identifiers has been researched in each of the four datasets. The analysis has been conducted using a set of 75 institutional affiliations, 6 randomly selected authors from the and 639 documents published by these authors. The coverage of total research output in MAG of the six selected authors had reached 76.0%, hence being on-par with coverage of Google Scholar (76.2%) and significantly better than that of Scopus (66.5%) and Web of Science (58.8%). The overall results indicate that Microsoft Academic Graph can be an interesting source of information for bibliometric or scientometric analysis. However, no definite conclusions regarding the scope of MAG can be drawn due to the small size of the sample. Furthermore, problems with affiliation and author disambiguation in MAG have been highlighted. Finally, studies focusing on the disciplinary coverage of the datasets in greater detail are proposed.

Short communications are an integral part of academic journal publishing since they serve as a forum for scholarly debate on recently published journal articles. Their prestige and popularity, however, have been declining in the present academic setting. In this short note, we offer several reasons for this phenomenon.

In early December 2019, the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) causing a cluster of pneumonia of unknown etiology originated from Wuhan, China, and spread rapidly throughout the world. The WHO (World Health Organization) changed the status of COVID-19 outbreak from epidemic into pandemic on March 11, 2020. →What this article adds: Since the emergence of COVID-19, the number of publications on this topic has dramatically grown. About 84% of COVID-19 documents are open-access. The focus of COVID-19 literature in terms of countries, journals, institutions, terms, and keywords which all were discussed in detail sets out the research hotspots and important topics in this field.

Blockchain has been gaining focus in research and development for diverse industries in recent years. Nevertheless, innovations that impact to the banking nurture a potential for disruptive impact globally for economic reasons; however it has received less scholarly attention. Hence the effect of blockchain technologies on banking industry is systematically reviewed. The relevant literature is extracted from Scopus, Web of Science and bibliometric techniques are applied. While a bulk of earlier papers focuses only on bit coins, a broader framework is envisaged that synthesizes interdisciplinary thematic areas for advancement; hence novelty in current work. A few practical and theoretical implications for stakeholders in view of technology, law and management are discussed.

This article focuses on issues concerning science and technology relationships posed by the emergence of a new drug discovery method, namely, combinatorial chemistry and biology. We assess the scientific content of combinatorial chemistry and biology using citations in patents to scientific journals and compare this research platform with biotechnology. We also identify the institutional affiliation of all the authors of the cited papers, which leads us to an analysis of knowledge spillovers between the main participants in the research network. Finally, we examine the relevance of localisation in the process of knowledge exchange with regard to EU countries and the US. The result of the analysis provides evidence to support the view that the inventive capacity of a country is dependent upon the basic research which is carried out, especially in universities and public research centres located in the inventor's country.

Open access publication for public funded research has been a demand by scholarly community. Studies shows about the growing publishing trend in open access from Indian scholars. The current study evaluates about the open access publication trend of top 5 central universities of India in the period from 2011 to 2015. The top 5 central universities were identified from the National Institutional Ranking Framework, published by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India for the year 2016. Study was limited to items published as article or review only in journals which are indexed in the Scopus database. The findings of the study show low share (only 14.37% of total items) of open access published contents from the top 5 universities during the period. Also an analysis of impact of the published contents via citation count reveals that even though the share of open access contents in the published literature were less but the rate of citation of the OA content were higher than that of the paid access contents. Average citation rate to the open access articles from the universities were 6.85 per article, while the same for the paid access items were 5.41 citations per article. 30.69% of published OA contents had foreign collaboration and out of those 30.69%, 62.38% had collaboration with USA, which proves the strong influence of USA collaboration in the OA contents of top Indian universities.

Bibliometric maps have the potential to become useful tools for science policy issues. The complexity of the structures, however, makes it often very difficult to interpret the results. In this study, we present a case study in which we use the bibliometric mapping results to address a high level science policy issue of research efficiency. By revealing the results in an alternative way, we increased the utility of bibliometric mapping within the science policy context. Moreover, by including additional information to the entities in the landscape, we provide useful input for the research potential. * This study was conducted within the contract of 'The 3TU landscape' for the 3TU federation in close collaboration with the 3TU/IST board. To survive worldwide competitions of research and development in the current rapid increase of information, decision-makers and researchers need to be supported to find promising research fields and papers. Finding a suitable data in too heavy flood of information is like looking for a needle in a haystack. We aim to find leading papers of the next generation rapidly with bibliometric approach. The analyses in this work consist of two parts: the citation network analysis and the time transition analysis. The bibliographic information of papers about cryptology is collected from Thomson Reuters' Web of Science. In the citation network analysis, each citation network is made from citation relations and divided into clusters. In the time transition analysis, the features of the leading papers are extracted, and we find that the degree centralities of the leading papers are obviously increasing over several years. In this paper, we present a preliminary analysis of the scientific production of Latin American Computer Science research groups. Our analysis is based on data over a period of 20 years collected from DBLP, and addresses 24 groups from academic institutions in Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Mexico, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela. Our results show a clear improvement in the publication output of these groups in the last 10 years, particularly in Argentina, Chile and Mexico.

The growing importance of collaboration in research and the still underdeveloped state-of-theart of research on collaboration have encouraged scientists from 16 countries to establish a global interdisciplinary research network under the title "Collaboration in Science and in Technology" (COLLNET) with Berlin as its virtual centre which has been set up on January 1st, 2000. The network is to comprise the prominent scientists, who work at present mostly in the field of quantitative science studies. The intention is to work together in cooperation both on theoretical and applied aspects.

Literature review is an important but time-consuming task that involves many disparate steps. A simple query to a library database may return voluminous literature that often bewilders novices.We believe the bibliographic techniques developed by the information scientists provide useful process and methods that facilitate literature analysis and review. We thereby developed a citation-based literature analyzing and structuring system, which may facilitate novices to perform tasks that are usually carried out by trained professionals. A field study was carried out to gauge the utility as well as users' perception using a questionnaire adopted from relevant empirical studies. Graduate students participated in the field study are able to publish papers in their first semester by utilizing this system. The utility and usefulness of the intellectual structuring system are demonstrated by the objective evidence of the high acceptance rate of papers utilizing the system as well as the subjective positive response from the users. A system utilization model utilizing the structure equation modeling technique found the task characteristics construct affects the information quality construct, which in turn affects the perceive usefulness of the system.

The present paper presents a Scientometric analysis of publications of National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra (NIT Kurukshetra) from 2012 to 2016 as reflected in Web of Science database. It attempts to analyse the growth and development of research activity of NIT Kurukshetra as reflected in publications output. Data for a total of 352 publications have been downloaded and analysed according to objectives. The study reveals that the growth of literature follows the year-wise growth pattern; conference proceeding papers are the most published form of literature (68.18%); Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee is top collaborating institution/ university with National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra (NIT Kurukshetra). The highly productive subject areas are engineering, computer science, energy fuels, telecommunication, and materials science. Malaysia, USA, and Japan are the most favoured countries for collaborations; top prolific authors are Kumar, A and Singh, A K; authorship pattern analysis shows that most preferred authorship pattern is two authors (59.09%).

This study analyzes the age profile of scientific employees and its relation to personnel costs and scientific productivity within eight faculties at the University of Vienna. The age demography can overall be divided into two main categories: Category one faculties represent an increased number of younger aged researchers (Catholic-, Protestant Theology, Law, Economics, Information Sciences, and Medicine), category two faculties show an increased number of older aged researchers (Social Sciences, Humanities, and Science). In addition, it can be demonstrated that the personnel costs for full professors are higher within four faculties (Catholic-, Protestant Theology, Law, and Economics and Information Sciences). Inevitably, this leads to savings for habilitated and non- habilitated researchers at these faculties. The faculty of Medicine represents a well-balanced use of personnel costs. Three faculties (Social Sciences, Humanities, and Sciences) have to pay dramatically more for their older aged habilitated and non-habilitated personnel. For the entire university and two faculties, Medicine and Humanities, a positive and significant relationship between age and the average weekly teaching performance is shown. This study suggests that institutions with a high percentage of older researchers, mainly in the categories of habilitated and non- habilitated personnel, must change their policy to become more flexible and attractive for new talented young people. Due to the fact, that this cannot only be realized through the introduction of new laws, each faculty must establish a scientific plan combined with reorganizations of the personnel structure and personnel costs.

However, we do not yet know whether this expansion of coverage was temporary or permanent, nor whether a further expansion of coverage has occurred. It is these questions we set out to respond in this research note.

Background: A systematic mapping of research in pediatric hyperthyroidism (PHT) is unavailable. Aims and Objectives: To provide a comprehensive assessment of PHT research over the past three decades. Materials and Methods: The data on publications in PHT were retrieved from the Scopus database using a defined search strategy, and analyzed using select bibliometric indicators. Results: During 1990-2019, global research in PHT registered 8.8% and 150.7% average annual and 15-year cumulative growth respectively, and averaged 30.6 citations per paper. Of the 111 participating countries, the USA leads the ranking with 28.9% share, followed by Italy, UK and Germany with 7.8%, 7.6% and 7.5% share, respectively. The number of participating organizations and authors was 555 and 1117 respectively.

We review the applicability of Bayesian networks (BNs) for discovering relations between genes, environment, and disease. By translating probabilistic dependencies among variables into graphical models and vice versa, BNs provide a comprehensible and modular framework for representing complex systems. We first describe the Bayesian network approach and its applicability to understanding the genetic and environmental basis of disease. We then describe a variety of algorithms for learning the structure of a network from observational data. Because of their relevance to real-world applications, the topics of missing data and causal interpretation are emphasized. The BN approach is then exemplified through application to data from a population-based study of bladder cancer in New Hampshire, USA. For didactical purposes, we intentionally keep this example simple. When applied to complete data records, we find only minor differences in the performance and results of different algorithms. Subsequent incorporation of partial records through application of the EM algorithm gives us greater power to detect relations. Allowing for network structures that depart from a strict causal interpretation also enhances our ability to discover complex associations including gene-gene (epistasis) and gene-environment interactions. While BNs are already powerful tools for the genetic dissection of disease and generation of prognostic models, there remain some conceptual and computational challenges. These include the proper handling of continuous variables and unmeasured factors, the explicit incorporation of prior knowledge, and the evaluation and communication of the robustness of substantive conclusions to alternative assumptions and data manifestations.

This paper seeks to build upon the previous literature on gender aspects in research collaboration and knowledge diffusion. Our approach adds the meme inheritance notion to traditional citation analysis, as we investigate if scientific memes are inherited differently from gendered authorship. Since authors of scientific papers inherit knowledge from their cited authors, once authorship is gendered we are able to characterize the inheritance process with respect to the frequencies of memes and their propagation scores depending on the gender of the authors. By applying methodologies that enable the gender disambiguation of authors, big missing data on the gender of citing and cited authors is dealt with. Our empirically based approach allows for investigating the combined effect of meme inheritance and gendered transmission. Results show that scientific memes do not spread differently from either male or female cited authors. Likewise, the memes that we analyse were not found to propagate more easily via male or female inheritance.

Purpose: This study analyzes the activities of top Times researchers in the field of political science with an emphasis on examining the ResearchGate network.
Method: This study opted for altmetric approach. Two research communities have been surveyed. The number of 145 faculty members affiliated to the top 10 universities of the Times 2021 in the field of political science was stratified sampling randomly, selected. Participation in the ResearchGate network was examined, for them. For the attendees, the indicators of citations, RG-score, and reads were extracted and compared. For the top 15 best Times scientific institutes, the RG scores per member and publication per member were calculated and compared. Correlation between Times Ranking and ResearchGate's indicators, done too. For data analysis, LibreOfficeCalc, and SPSS22 were exploited.

Findings: Only, 39% of all faculty members belong to the best Times centers in the field of political science, have seen by registration in the ResearchGate network. For 57 registered individuals, there was a significant correlation between ResearchGate's indicators with each other. But there was no significant relationship between the Times rankings and the mentioned indicators, except for the reads (P-value = 0.018) with a weak reverse correlation (Spearman coefficient= - 0.314). Furthermore, comparative analysis for the top 15 Times institutes had done from standpoint of RG-Score, too.
Originality: The Correlation relationship between Times rank and ResearchGate’s indicators in the field of political science, in addition, the participation of faculty members of the best scientific centers in this mentioned field had not been done yet.

A bibliometria, como área de estudo da ciência da informação, tem um papel relevante na análise da produção científica de um país, uma vez que seus indicadores retratam o grau de desenvolvimento de uma área do conhecimento de um campo científico ou de saber. O artigo verifica a inserção dos estudos bibliométricos na pesquisa científica da pós-graduação no Brasil a partir da analise de teses e dissertações que abordaram aspectos de estudos bibliométricos. Como fundamentação, discutiu-se a bibliometria e suas relações com a cienciometria. Foram analisados 82 trabalhos publicados no período de 1987 a 2007; chegou-se a esse universo após levantamento junto ao Banco de Teses da Coordenação  de Pessoal de Nível Superior (Capes). Trata-se de um estudo quantitativo-descritivo, no qual se verifica o uso da bibliometria para estudos de campos científicos a partir das variáveis: ano, instituição, região geográfica, nível (mestrado ou doutorado), área do conhecimento e orientação. Os resultados apontam uma retomada mais do que significativa no estudo da temática, tendo 2007 como o ano de maior produção. Revela ainda uma multiplicidade na produção, que demonstra o interesse pela abordagem bibliométrica nas várias áreas de conhecimento no Brasil, ensejando análises sobre a interdisciplinaridade entre ciência da informação e outros campos de conhecimento.

In our 1975 monograph "Evaluative Bibliometrics" we discussed the many uses of publication and citation analysis in the evaluation of scientific activities, and some of the basic statistical properties of the scientific literature, particularly the skewness of the distributions of publications and citations, reference time distributions, and various anomalies in the citation patterns from one country to another. Over the last ten years we have devoted much of our energy to the development of an analogous research base and infrastructure for patent bibliometrics, that is for the use of patents, and patent citations in the evaluation of technological activities. There are remarkable similarities between literature bibliometrics and patent bibliometrics, and they are both applicable to the same wide ranges of problems. This paper will show that there are striking similarities between literature and patent distributions of national productivity, inventor productivity, referencing cycles, citation impact and within country citation preferences.

The article deals with a research paper in humanities

approach offered is of relevance for expert’s
assessment of scientific quality in addition to bibliometric

text reflects the interrelation between epistemic “old”

problem of opting-in of his/her result as a piece of new
knowledge to the system of existing knowledge. So, the
explicity of a verbalized new result creates crucial specifics
of a research paper structure, which main function
is presumed to be a source of information transfer, information

The Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education of Indonesia has introduced several national and international indexers of scientific works. This policy becomes a guideline for lecturers and researchers in choosing the reputable publications. This study aimed to describe the understanding level of Indonesian lecturers related to indexing databases, i.e. SINTA, DOAJ, Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar. This research used descriptive design and survey method. The populations in this study were Indonesian lecturers and researchers. The primary data were obtained from a questionnaire filled by 316 lecturers and researchers from 33 Provinces in Indonesia recruited with convenience sampling technique on October-November 2017. This study assesses the growth, the patterns of development and the complexity of research in the field of ecology from 1976 to 1993 in Spain and the five Spanish speaking countries of the. Caribbean. Using as a yardstick of research and development in that field, the dissertation titles were counted for each region. The total length, the key words per title were recorded and analysed statistically. Results show that the growth of research in ecology is greater in Spain and peaked earlier than in the Caribbean countries. However, the titles in the latter region were more complex than those in Spain.

Objective: This study aimed to explore the scientific performance in research of endocrinology and metabolism and its correlation with the socioeconomic indicators in the Middle-East countries. Material and Methods: Scientometrics and social network analysis methods were used for this study. Data were extracted from the Web of Science, World Bank, and UIS data center of UNESCO. Results: The majority of scientific productions (79.6%) were published by authors affiliated with upper-middle and high income countries which includes Turkey , Israel, and Iran. From co-authorship analysis, Saudi Ara-bia, Egypt, and Turkey with most degree centrality, had the highest collaborative ranking with other Middle-East countries. The main Middle-East collaborators having scientific outputs in this field were the researchers from the USA, England, and Germany. Israel, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia had the most collaboration (63.8%) with other countries. Also, there was a strong positive correlation between total collaborations with global countries and the number of citations. Conclusion: Due to the correlation among scientific productions, citations, scientific collaborations, Gross domestic expenditure on research and development, and specialist human resources indicators, the supplementary budget should be directed toward research in the Middle-East countries and establishing global networks to conduct joint projects. This could increase the trend of scientific productions and obtain higher citations in the Web of Science, eventually leading to scientific, social as well as economic development in the region. Orta Doğu ile iş birliği yapan ve bu alanda bilimsel çıktıları olan başlıca araştırmacılar ABD, İngiltere ve Alman-ya'dandır. Diğer ülkelerle en fazla iş birliği (%63,8) yapan ül-keler İsrail, Türkiye ve Suudi Arabistan'dır. Ayrıca küresel ülkelerle yapılan toplam iş birliği ile atıf sayısı arasında güçlü bir pozitif korelasyon vardır. Sonuç: Bilimsel üretimler, atıflar, bilimsel iş birlikleri, araştırma ve geliştirme harcamalarının gayrisafi yurt içi hasılaya oranı ve uzman insan kaynakları göstergeleri arasındaki korelasyon nedeni ile, ek bütçe ortak projeler yürütmek için Orta Doğu ülkelerindeki araştırmalara ve küresel ağlar kurmaya yönlendirilmelidir. Böylelikle bilim-sel üretim eğilimi artabilir, Web of Science'da daha yüksek atıflar elde edilebilir ve sonuç olarak bu eğilim bölgede bilim-sel, sosyal ve ekonomik kalkınma sağlayabilir.

Στις χώρες με ανεπτυγμένη σχολική εκπαίδευση οι Σχολικές τους Βιβλιοθήκες διάνυσαν ήδη μια μεγάλη μορφολογική και λειτουργική διαδρομή: Από την παραδοσιακή μορφή Βιβλιοθήκης που στηρίζονταν στις έντυπες πηγές και κατείχε σημαντικό χώρο του σχολικού κτηρίου για τη στέγαση της, μετέβησαν σταδιακά στη Σχολική Βιβλιοθήκη 1.0 που επειδή στηρίζεται σε μεγάλο βαθμό στις ηλεκτρονικές πηγές και λιγότερο στις έντυπες έχει περιορισμένες απαιτήσεις στέγασης αλλά δράσεις και λειτουργίες που καλύπτουν όλο το σχολικό κτήριο. Τα τελευταία χρόνια η ανάπτυξη του συμμετοχικού Web 2.0 μεταλλάσσει και την Σχολική Βιβλιοθήκη 1.0 σε Σχολική Βιβλιοθήκη 2.0 που πλέον λειτουργεί ως το «Πληροφοριακό Κέντρο του Σχολείου (iCentre)» σε άμεση οργανωτική και λειτουργική σχέση με τις πληροφορικές υποδομές και τις σχετικές με αυτές εκπαιδευτικές δράσεις και δομές του σχολείου. Τα σχολεία μας, στην συντριπτική τους πλειονότητα, και παρά τα παραδείγματα σημαντικών Σχολικών Βιβλιοθηκών στο παρελθόν, και τις αλυσιτελείς προσπάθειες καθιέρωσής τους στο σχετικά πρόσφατο, στερούνται Σχολικών Βιβλιοθηκών. Όμως με την εκμετάλλευση της πληροφοριακής τεχνολογίας, με μικρές κτιριακές παρεμβάσεις και με την διάθεση περιορισμένων πόρων-αλλά με θέληση για αλλαγή και εκσυγχρονισμό, τόσο από την πολιτική ηγεσία όσο και από τους εκπαιδευτικούς-μπορούμε να οδηγηθούμε κατ΄ευθείαν στο τρίτο στάδιο εξέλιξης των Σχολικών Βιβλιοθηκών όπως αυτές διαμορφώθηκαν διεθνώς και να δημιουργήσουμε στα σχολεία μας «Σχολικά Πληροφοριακά Κέντρα» που θα ενσωματώνουν: λειτουργίες βιβλιοθήκης, πληροφοριακής στήριξης του εκπαιδευτικού έργου, εκπαίδευσης των μαθητών στον πληροφοριακό αλφαβητισμό και στην πληροφοριακή τεχνολογία και εκμετάλλευση των πρακτικών του συμμετοχικού Web 2.0.

This study aims to present the bibliometric characteristics of the Journal, Library Progress (International). The study is based on research articles appeared in the journal during the period from 2010 to 2015. It illustrates various important aspects like-growth of articles and authors, authorship patterns, author productivity, single-and multi-authored papers by year geographical distribution of articles and most prolific authors and trend of research collaborations among authors etc. The findings of the study revealed that majority of the articles are authored by two authors. It constitutes alone 70 (53.44%). It is followed by single author 41 (31.30%). The average number of authors per paper of this journal is 1.85 and the average productivity per author is 0.54. India since being the host country, as such proved to be the sole major contributors of the journal in every respect. Individual contribution of authors to the journal has been tabulated as per articles contributed, highlighted in their standing order. Researchers from 3 countries and 17 states from India have contributed articles to the journal during the period of study. Collaborative Index, Degree of Collaboration and Collaborative Coefficient were calculated from the data and the following mean values were found 0.54, 0.69 and 0.37 respectively. Finally this study reveals the prominence of joint authorship, which indicates trend of collaborative research in LIS field.
