In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Title and Meta description not updatingOur recommendation is that you disable indexables on your staging sites to prevent that data from syncing between the two environments. You can disable indexables with this setting in the wp-config.php or this filter.
To prevent the sync, you’ll need to check with Kinsta on how to not sync the Yoast SEO custom tables.

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Why did I get an error for the SEO data optimization?Hello @ymotiey,
I’m sorry you couldn’t complete the SEO data optimization. The errors point to a conflict with a WooCommerce module in Elementor Pro. Please try the following:
- Install and activate the Yoast Test Helper plugin
- Install the Health Check and Troubleshooting plugin.
- Verify that you have a default theme such as Twenty Twenty Three. If not, please install it.
- Navigate to WordPress > Tools > Yoast Test. Click on the ‘Reset indexables tables & migrations,’ ‘Reset Prominent words calculation‘, and ‘Reset Internal link counter’ buttons. After each click, the page will reload to confirm that each reset was successful.
- Next, activate the Troubleshooting Mode (TM) in the Health Check plugin.
- In TM, activate only Yoast SEO and the default theme
- Re-run the SEO data optimization in WordPress > Yoast SEO > Tools
Do let us know how it goes.
@alexdx: Kindly desist from posting under other threads and stick with yours since the issue reported by OP is not the same as yours
Hello @1benk1,
Thanks for using the Yoast SEO and I’m sorry about your experience.
- Are you running Yoast SEO v23.0 since we fixed some profile-related issues in v22.6?
- Does resetting the Yoast SEO indexables help? How to reset the Yoast indexables
- Does disabling or excluding certain post types or taxonomies help? This might be applicable for a post type or a taxonomy registered as
public
yet you do not use those URLs on the frontend of your site. - Are you using a user management plugin? And how many of the 50K+ users have contributor or higher permissions?
- Is the performance better (even if still slow) when Yoast SEO is the only active plugin?
I look forward to your response.

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Problem with CanonicalsForum: Plugins
In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Problem with CanonicalsHello @drixi,
Thanks for reaching out about the wrong canonical URLs in your translated archive pages. I tried replicating your setup with WPML with three languages (EN, NL, & ES), but my archive pages have the correct canonical URLs corresponding to each translated language. We know that resetting the data may sound intimidating, but our How to reset the Yoast indexables guide will walk you through the process step by step. We’ve also summarized the steps below.
- Install & activate the Yoast Test Helper plugin
- Go to Tools > Yoast Test
- Locate the Yoast SEO section and click on the ‘Reset indexables tables & migrations‘, ‘Reset Prominent words calculation‘, and ‘Reset Internal link counter‘ buttons. After each click, the page will reload to confirm that the specific reset was successful.
- Go to SEO > Tools, and under SEO data, click the “Start SEO data optimization” button to allow Yoast to rescan your content.
Please let us know if the reported issue remains after resetting the optimized data.

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Images ROLE changed to “BUTTON” (after update)Hello @cdvwporg
I’m sorry about your experience, but Yoast SEO doesn’t control your image elements, and nothing in our latest update would have done that. Since your images were added via the Elementor image widget, I recommend contacting their support team.

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] site name doubled in title v.23.0Hello @hkasweb
Thanks for reaching out about your search appearance. Since everything is set up as you prefer in the Yoast SEO, view the page source to confirm that it’s also reflected.
If it is, the issue is with Google not displaying the values how you want it in search results. I recommend posting a question in the Google Search Central Help Community.

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Schema.org: WebPage instead of Organization?Hello @marcopanichi,
Thanks for reaching out about your site’s structured data. The
Organization
Schema is shown in the structured data output. Your homepage is correctly defined as aWebPage

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Missing translation stringsI’m sorry I missed your point, @grigrid. I see the strings you referenced are marked as fuzzy. This means it needs to be approved by a General Translation Editor (GTE) for the FR locale. I have nudged one to check them.
Thanks for letting us know.

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Title and Meta description not updatingThanks for letting me know the issue was fixed. I’m not entirely sure why that happened but doubt it’s specific to the latest version. Clearly, it’s an issue with the wrong data stored in the WordPress database. You shouldn’t need to do this on every staging site; it must be peculiar to that site.

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] ‘noindex’ detected in the ‘robots’ meta tag”Should I put the code block you sent me in the robots.txt file deleting everything else, or in a specific place? Sorry, but I really don’t know anything about code.
Yes, I recommend removing everything else and using the directives I shared previously.
Here are some examples of links to pages I have blocked by robots (most are pdfs of data sheets of our products)
According to Google, the simplest way to prevent PDF documents from appearing in search results is to add an
X-Robots-Tag: noindex
in the HTTP header used to serve the file. We also have additional information on using the X-Robots-Tag here: https://yoast.com/x-robots-tag-play/here are some examples of links to pages that I have excluded based on the “noindex” tag
As we always recommend, these are date archives and redirect to your homepage. Date archives (e.g.
https://val-tec.it/2023/10/12/
) are based on publication dates. From an SEO perspective, the posts in these archives have no real relation to the other posts except for their publication dates, which doesn’t say much about the content. They could also lead to duplicate content issues. This is why we recommend you to disable date archives.I have set it as a setting that there is always the title of the page as the permalink so in reality I do not know why these pages with the date as the permalink were created.
These are created by WordPress so it’s good that they already redirect to the homepage.
Let me know if you have follow-up questions. I’ll be happy to answer them!

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Showing tagline first then site title in google searchSince I don’t understand your site language, I can’t make out the difference between what you want and what’s shown in search results. If the SEO title below is what you have entered in the Yoast SEO plugin, the issue is not with our plugin but Google.
<title>कैसे करें - टिप्स, ट्रिक्स और टुटोरिअल</title>
Google is the one who decides what your title and meta description say. While Google typically uses the title and meta description from the metadata for indexing, this is not always the case. The title and meta description you enter in our snippet preview are suggestions for Google. If you require further assistance, consider posting a question in the Google Search Central Help Community.
