The plugin is called “Dokan – Best WooCommerce Multivendor Marketplace Solution – Build Your Own Amazon, eBay, Etsy”. It seems to describe the “Advanced version”. In the Simple Version the owner needs a warehouse, but in the Advanced Version vendors can ship their own orders. Seems like it’s going to cost a lot more to open a warehouse than to provide the vendor the ability to ship their own orders. It should say Build your own “Limited Scale Marketplace”. Ebay and Etsy both allow vendors to ship their own orders, as does Amazon, although they have warehousing as well. Given that it’s taken multiple forum posts and hours of reading documentation to work this detail out, I stand by my assessment that the free version of this plugin is not what it claims to be, and is probably really only good for testing.

Hi Tanjir, I agree that no startup would like to place their business at risk. Maybe I have misunderstood. If a vendor is based in another location, how is it possible that the shipping costs provided in Woocommerce will be able to be used by the vendor? E.g. the vendor is based in US, and wants to send using US Mail domestically. This isn’t set up as a shipping option because the store owner isn’t based in the US.

Does the owner need to restrict the vendors that register to their own location? Or do you just set flat rate shipping that all vendors can use? The vendor is the one shipping the product, so I think the only way is that they would set their own shipping rates. I am also wondering about how to ensure the vendor is accountable for shipping the item. Actually I’m just starting to use the plugin, but I hit a major hurdle with trying to set the shipping rates in testing.

Thanks, I understand the importance given the security vulnerability. I’m not sure what was in this update, or whether the issue was entirely the fault of the plugin. All I know is that the site was functioning normally, and then I received an email stating there was an enforced update. A plugin shouldn’t be able to use so much memory that a site ceases to function. That’s the main feedback I wanted to provide. Also if an update is enforced for security it should be just for that. I don’t know what the changes were, but it seems like it was something more than just a permissions check. I would’ve updated the plugin anyway in the next few days.

Thanks Rui, it’s working again now by changing to higher value. When I was looking at the menu, I noticed that in the second level menu there is an X in a square box. Is it possible to remove this close box? I tried to hide it with CSS, but the element is linked to the arrow, so if I hide the box, it also hides the arrow. I also tried removing the ‘close-icon’ class from the element, but the arrows wouldn’t work properly without it. Ideally I’d like to have it so that only 1 submenu can be expanded at once, but if I can hide the box, I can work on that.

Thanks for your reply. I don’t really want to disable the breadcrumb, as it provides user navigation on the site. It’s only used on store pages, and because of this it’s generating a mixed bag of urls in search (some in breadcrumb format, and others with slashes). Is there a way I can keep the breadcrumb, and have all urls show in search in the same format – with slashes?

I think the breadcrumbs are the problem. I’m using Woocommerce breadcrumbs with the storefront theme. I’ve altered the urls, and they don’t match the breadcrumb, which is intentional, as I want to reduce the length of the url. All I want to display in search is the url, title, and short description. Will using the breadcrumb function from the link resolve the issue, or do I need to disable the theme breadcrumb?

Hi, sorry it took a while to answer, I don’t think I saw the reply. Yes, the 301 redirects are working, which works for me. I mainly wanted to avoid getting 404 errors. With the canonical urls, is it possible to set which url will be the canonical or will it be the last product that’s added? E.g. Grouped products that have duplicate content of child products.

Thanks @anindowp, I updated and it fixed the issue. I’m also getting a message in the admin screen that I can’t remove. Not sure why it’s asking for a license key as I’m not using the premium version. I uploaded another screenshot:
