the popup only works when the page is reloaded. it does not work when the first time the page is loaded. Please advice.

This is very simple plugin that work with click action like click on image, link or button.

Exactly the issue. Kindly try to uderstand what @suntherateyan is saying.
1)So go to this page.
2) then from menu, go to test prashant page.
3) on that page there is an image of a child.
4) Click that. your pop up does not load.
5) reload the page.
6) click on the child image and Ta-Da!! Popup loads!!!
