Posting this because after three different attempts, over 3 months, to get WordPress installed on a 4000webs dot com host, I still get the same result–it tries to download index.php rather than execute it.

Queries to their support department go unanswered.

An .htaccess file with DirectoryIndex index.html index.htm index.php doesn’t resolve the issue.

So for now, suggest people try other hosting solutions.
