My site was updated from 6.03 to 6.1 yesterday and the 2×2 wordpress gallery started showing as a single column of images with no space in between.
I’ve rolled back the update and turned off auto-updates for this release but that’s not a longterm solution. Adding a new gallery under 6.1 had the same issue. It shows fine in the editor but on the preview/published page the images are strung together in one column.

In a separate issue another site I look after also updated to 6.1 and the spacing below all the single images disappeared. An easy fix (increased the top margin for the heading below the images) but not something I’d expect to have to do.

I’m having the exact same issue with GeneratePress. They tell me this is an issue in WordPress Core that needs to be fixed.

As per the info on the linked thread above, I’ve added
```
.is-layout-flex {
  display: flex;
  flex-wrap: wrap;
}
```
to my additional CSS and the gallery problem is fixed (as a work around, awaiting a patch). Hope that’s useful for anyone else with the same issue.

After updating to 6.1.1, my galleries stack up nice, but clicking on the images no longer opens them into a larger window. If I choose 4 images for example, 3 of them will nicely space across in columns and the 4th will be below and be the width of the 3 above. When viewing the page, there is no way to see the larger images from the 3 small thumbnails on the page.

I still have the same problem. After upgrading to 6.1, the galleries are broken. They appear as a single column of images without spacing. The fix from Helen works, but very sad you need that one..

Hi.
I’ve had the theme “Go” for years. In my Gallery, when clicking on an image, it should expand. Now, when I hover over it with my mouse, a little magnifying glass with a “+” appears AND the image no longer opens/expands when I click on it.
Can anyone help?
