  • If you open browser’s console, which error do you see?

    Hi Author argonius !

My I spend the same as the “Member mvaneijgen”

when I open the browser console…

    tells me this error:

Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected string plugins.php? activate=true&plugin_status=all&paged=1&s=:170
Consider using ‘dppx’ units instead of ‘dpi’, as in CSS ‘dpi’ means dots-per-CSS-inch, not dots-per-physical-inch, so does not correspond to the actual ‘dpi’ of a screen. In media query expression: print, not all, (-webkit-min-device-pixel-ratio: 1.25), (min-resolution: 120dpi)

    -screen go blank (in white)…
    and never recovers …
-Uninstall and reinstall and white screen remains the same in…

-It is possible to fix this error Mr. Author?

-I hope if you can fix … because it is one of the best plugin admin editor!

    I await your positive response
    thank you very much
    Guillermo.

PD. I do not speak English, speak Spanish, I am from Argentina, use google translator … I hope he understand ..

    Hi Guillermo,

I think that some other plugin throws that error “Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected string plugins.php? activate=true&plugin_status=all&paged=1&s=:170”

I would suggest you to disable all other plugins and leave only AG Custom Admin enabled. If it works after that, than some of the disabled plugins throws that error. You could enable plugins one by one after that, and to see when this error will appear again. If you’re unable to access your login page, please disable JavaScript in your browser.

I was trying to change my footer and now I cant access my administrator page… its all white with a couple of dots. Please help me I cant get into my site!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How do I get rid of this plug in when I cant access my page????????? How can I do anything?

You have some JavaScript errors on your page. Please check browser’s console to see what is the cause of it. You should be able to access your login, simply by disabling JavaScript in your browser. I would kindly suggest to read plugin’s FAQ.

    Hi,
I would like to mention that there is really something going on with the plugin, which I am using happily for quite a while now. And that is the white scree of death. After updates in the past, this could be solved by clearing the cache and refreshing. After updating to WP 8.1, updating your plugin leads to a permanent screen of death. I access my admin by editing the directory name of your plugin by ftp, deinstall it and then try stuff to find out the cause.
I disabled my plugins, did a fresh install, entered ag-custom admin, but…. when I hit the save button of your plugin, the white screen is there again. This day I kept on doing experiments like this. In the end I downgraded again to 1.2.7.8 and everything works normal.
I hope my info is useful to you.
    Regards.

    Hi,

It’s really difficult to say what happens in your environment. Please check browser’s console whenever you have such errors. Issues like these are most likely caused by JavaScript errors. Console’s logs usually can give us more information about actual error. Please copy/paste those errors if you can.

    Thanks!

    There you go:

    Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected string

The following code block is then displayed 2x in my console:

Resource interpreted as Script but transferred with MIME type text/html: “http://wordpress.argonius.com/agca/info.php/info?jsoncallback=jQuery1102080…6378_1392563325926&wp_ver=3.8.1&agca_ver=1.3.3&format=json&_=1392563325927”. load-scripts.php?c=1&load%5B%5D=jquery-core,jquery-migrate,utils&ver=3.8.1:5

That’s really interesting. I wasn’t able to reproduce this issue on my environment. Can you send me a link to your site where this issue is reproducible? If you run it in production, do you have any test environment? I will need to debug to find the source of the problem. Thanks!

Same problem here. Had to delete it via FTP. Let us know if you fix this.

    Hi,
This cannot be fixed for all users! This is the effect of the different causes. When some JavaScript code from other plugin/theme throws an error, it may block AGCA scripts to work properly. In that case the only solution is to check browser’s console for errors and find the exact source of the problem.

Please post here your site URL and I could take a look.
    Thanks!

Please follow this advice: Per the forum welcome please post your own topic.

    http://wordpress.org/support/plugin/ag-custom-admin#postform

This topic is 6 months old and current version was released this month.

I agree. Please download 1.3.4 plugin version or later, and post new topics regarding this version. Error handling is improved in the latest version, so this error might not be reproducible any more.

    Thanks.

Hi ,I have been offline for a while, but the URL you requested is
    http://www.brasseriedekroon.nl.

I installed the 1.3.4. now (offline). I get no screen of death now but in the right upper corner there is an error message. It sais there is an unexpected string in site url/wp-admin/plugins.php?activate=true&plugin_status=all&paged=1&s=149

    This causes the following:
    1. When I hover my WordPress admin menu, tthe sub menu’s do not appear. I have to click to make them visible.
    2. When I enter your plugin, nothing happens when I click a tab to go to another page. So I am stuck on the plugins “Admin Bar” tab.
Console message: Failed to load resource: net::ERR_NAME_RESOLUTION_FAILED
    http://argonius.com/ag-custom-admin/ep/ads?jsoncallback=jQuery110205631383243016899_1393239955810&wp_ver=3.8.1&agca_ver=1.3.4&format=json&_=1393239955811

    Thanks
