What is the purpose of the cookie? If we disable the cookie in the asp > settings > advanced options, will it have any negative affect on functionality that is useful for customers/users?

    Thank you

Thanks. I don’t see anywhere in that support thread where the developer describes what the plugin is used for. If disabling the cookie in settings also disables some useful functionality then maybe we don’t want to disable the cookie. Please ask the dev to give a very quick summary what the cookie is for.

The cookie stores a random generated ID value to identify the database row where some product information is saved in your database at the time the customers is going through the checkout process.

It was heavily used for the following deprecated feature:

    https://s-plugins.com/creating-payment-button-dynamically-adding-details-shortcode/

Since we have reworked the code and also deprecated the above mentioned feature, I have not seen any other areas where the “disable cookie” option creates any issues. There may be some edge cases where disabling causes issues (I haven’t just discovered them yet).

You can disable the option then test to see if you have any issues on your site.
