Using deprecated PLUGINDIR constant | WordPress.org

I ran into an issue because domain_mapping_plugins_uri() uses PLUGINDIR which has been deprecated for 5 years (https://core.trac.wordpress.org/changeset/12921). I worked around it for now by simply defining that constant appropriately (in my case ‘content/plugins’), but if I make an actual fix is the plugin on github?

I may not be of as much help as I thought. Completely short-cutting that function by simply returning $full_url seem to make everything work on my setup. In what situation is that function supposed to fix things?
