Split Posts into Pages not working

    Hi,

    I am working on Twenty Twelve Theme and added a long content for test purpose. I added <!––nextpage––> in the text version of editor in between the content to split it into multiple pages but nothing happened. Please help me how I can split the content into multiple pages using this theme.
