    In include/class-wp-mcm-plugin.php function mcm_register_media_taxonomy() there is flush_rewrite_rules(); which clears rewrite rules on every website page load, leading to significant degradation of WordPress performance.

    Thanks for reporting this together with a hint to a solution.
    I just updated to V1.9.9 where I fixed this.
