    Hello,
every time we make a plugin update of The Events Calendar, all the .mo files in wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/lang/ are also updated. So any specific/special translations are lost. We need to upload our file each time. Since our website is using fr_CA.mo and not fr-FR.mo (from France) and that the french Canadian version is incomplete, we need to use the fr_FR version and rename it fr_CA. This is working perfectly until the plugin gets updated.
How to prevent the .mo files from being changed when the plugin is updated?
    Thanks

    Hi @marquopolo,

You’re correct, every time the plugin is updated, existing language files will be overwritten with the updated versions.

However, to prevent this from happening, you can place your edited translation files directly in the /wp-content/languages/plugins folder.

Please see our Translation Basics Knowledgebase article for more information.

    Hope this helps!

    Thank you,
    Erica
