I’ve updated to v2.2.3 of SSL Insecure Context Fixer and now receive the (expected) warning that my version of PCRE is too low. For this particular site I’m on a hosting platform with PCRE 7.8. The inline code comments refer to problems with versions older than v7.2. Anecdotally, I know that this plugin isn’t obviously broken in my environment and has worked in the past.

How badly broken is this plugin with PCRE 7.8? It’s not an immediate option for me to move this site on to a newer host.
