• Hi,
If I look at the Email User settings I see numerous users who have notification and mass email set to off. How would users set this as I have “Allow Users to control their own Email Users setting” unticked, so they should not be able to change their settings. ( Default is to allow “Receive post or page notification emails.” and “Receive emails sent to multiple recipients.” )

Also in the User Settings display the columns Notifications and Mass Email both show as sortable, but do not seem to work. I was hoping to be able to click on say Notifications to show all the OFF values grouped together … but they are still scattered randomly throughout the page lists.

    Cheers
    Alan

Did the users exist before you installed the plugin? If the users exists before Email Users was activated then the Email Users setting for their profile was never created. If a new user is created after the plugin is installed, the users will pick up the plugin settings. For all existing users you would need to set the state you want using the Bulk Setting option on the Dashboard.

    Thanks Mike,

The users, or at least most of the 450, were all working a few weeks ago when i last sent a mass email.
Today The dashboard reports that only 165 users are accepting Mazss emails and notifications. This is despite my going through the Users Settings and changing every entry to be On/On. BTW I can only change 3 pages at a time before it crashes the WP dashboard and I have to go back in again to change the next 3 pages ( of 25 ).

So all members changed but the Dashboard still reports 165 members only accepting mass emails.

I suspect there is something happening with the latest PHP – 7.4 and/or WordPress. 5.3.2

    Cheers

    BTW forgot to add.
Default values are On and On, and have been since installation more than a year ago.
The ability for users to change their own settings has always been disabled.

    cheers
    Alan
