    What is the relationship between between nginx helper and Cloudflare 522 error?

    A 522 error happens when a TCP connection to the web server could not be established. This typically happens when Cloudflare requests to the origin (your webserver) get blocked. When this happens, you’ll see “ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT”.

    Without nginx helper it’s fine, but when I switch it one I get often (not always) 522 errors. I use Lets Encrypt SSL if that makes a different.

    I can attest to this issue, when we have a large number of cache files to clear, it can take more than a minute (in my case 100+ secs) resulting in 522 error in WordPress admin. Also in general slow down is observed when purge is running for WordPress backed.
