I’m not sure how you’re currently adding the events to your home page, but I would recommend taking a look at this article, which has a couple of methods that you can use to achieve this.

Also, you’ll want to make sure that you have “Month” set for the Default view setting under Events > Settings > Display.

Finally, if you have followed these instructions and are still not getting the correct calendar view on the front end, then the next step would be to test for conflicts with your theme and other plugins. If you need a testing environment, the free WP Staging plugin will let you create a quick copy of your live site that you can use for testing.
