I have a post loop which displays all posts in a custom post type on a page.

I would like to build a post image carousel to sit on another page.

I would like the images in the post carousel to be links. I can get them to link to the post itself BUT I would actually like to link to the position on the page where that post is displayed.

I am not using the single post display for this type, just the index page showing the whole posts one after the other.

So I want each featured image to link to the right position on that page.

I hope that makes sense.

It should work in a similar way to this TOC widget in the sidebar where each name takes you to the place on that page: https://tlc.kbsoftware.co.uk/editorial/readers-2/
