• The plugin works for what it’s supposed to accomplish but the whole point in offering a snippet-type option in an online/offline application is user convenience.

It does minimize the amount of data you have to type, however you still have to remember what to type. When you get too many snippets you have to go back to the snippets settings to figure out what you need to type. By the time you do, you could have easily copy and pasted the related content from a previous post.

The best snippets-type addons/plugins are the kind where you don’t have to remember anything to type. Instead you would need a drop down “insert” menu with the titles of the snippets so it can insert it directly into the post you are working on. No short codes…just the related material. This way you don’t have to remember anything. You just click, select and move on.

For example, I have the same thing I use in Mozilla Thunderbird for the purposes of email signatures between accounts.

Also, if it worked the way I explained, the plugin wouldn’t “need” to load in the BG for visitors. It would only need to load when composing a new post/page.

Now that would be worth 5 stars and would be widely used.
