• After the latest YOAST Update:
ALL the images I had inserted in my site using the Elementor “IMAGE” Element (all images with link = “NONE”) got their Accessibility ROLE changed to “BUTTON”. This change to the image’s code made all these images now being displayed as CLICKABLE, although nothing happens when they are clicked.

THIS AFFECED THE ENTIRE SITE (all pages) but only the IMAGES inserted via Elementor IMAGE Element.

I wonder if this may have something to do with YOAST since it happened the very same day as your Update.

    Thank you.

    Hello @cdvwporg

I’m sorry about your experience, but Yoast SEO doesn’t control your image elements, and nothing in our latest update would have done that. Since your images were added via the Elementor image widget, I recommend contacting their support team.
