I have the following plugins installed: ActivityPub, Node, Webfinger, Friends.

While sometimes some instances get a follow notification this is not true across all instances. I’ve deactivated every cache, optimisation, and edge-cache system as well as all other IndieWeb plugins but have yet to truly figure out what is wrong.

Any hints, tips, or ideas gratefully received.

Clarification: Those instances that have shown a follow, allow me to direct view the blog’s updates but do not show it in search.

I see no issues on your site or with your config, everything seems to work like it should. It also seems only a Mastodon thing, I tested your site with pixelfed and calckey without problems.

Thanks for the reassurance. I wonder why Mastodon instances are like that?

Found the problem. It was not the plugin at all. My hosts were too aggressively protecting accounts against DDoS.
