• WordPress core functionality offers these two options (in /wp-admin/options-discussion.php):

    Users must be registered and logged in to comment
    Automatically close comments on posts older than X days

    Is there any way – either within WordPress or using a plugin – to combine the two? E.g., have an option which states:

    Users must be registered and logged in to comment on posts older than X days

    I want to continue allowing unregistered users to comment on recent posts, but not on older ones unless they are registered, to deter spammers.
