• I used FileZilla in the past to update WordPress very successfully. However the site I am currently updating has a number of add-on domains. I can FTP into the individual add-on domains but I am having trouble FTPing into the root folder. I am assuming that I need to update both the root and the add-ons individually? Thank you.

You’ll need to contact your hosting provider’s support about that.

Thank you James. I thought I might need to contact the host but I hoped someome more experienced might have a different answer.

I have already looked in the add-ons and each one is different thus I assumed I need to update each separately (10 in all).

Am I also correct to think I also need to update the main WordPress installation of which the add-ons are a part? I think I will have to but maybe you know differently.

Thank you for your help. Much appreciated. Jim.

Why not update from Dashboard > Updates in the site’s Dashboard?

    Updating WordPress
