I’m so incredibly grateful for Simple Local Avatar after the WP User Avatar debacle of April 2001. Thanks to the integrated migrate feature, I succeeded in moving all of my data over. But I’m still rather traumatized by the experience of possibly losing all of my user<->avatar associations (over 1,000 and growing on my site).

So, I’d really like some manual export data option in Simple Local Avatars. (Perhaps also an import option.) I do use the plugin “Import and Export Users and Customers” (but I haven’t tested it in any migrate/restore scenario with the simple_user_avatar fields in the WP user_meta database table). I also make daily full database backups, but I can imagine some situations where a full restore is undesirable and one might want to restore from a manual export of the user<->avatar associations.

I just want to give voice to this suggestion after not seeing anything yet in the forum search. If adding this feature is undesirable, it would be good to explore more how to successfully do another manual export of the data and their restoration through a plugin like “Import and Export Users and Customers” (or any other means).

@spaceling Thanks for the suggestion! I could see this being helpful, even if just has a WP-CLI command. Would you mind adding this as an issue on our GitHub? Much more likely that this will get prioritized if it’s added there. Thanks!
