    Hello,
I use BackWPup standard version 4.0.2.
I’m trying to save to a planetHoster FTP server.
Using FilleZilla with the following parameters:
    Protocol: FTP Host: node18-eu.n0c.com
    Port: 21
Encryption: Explicit FTP connection over TLS
    Authentication: normal
    User : ******* Password : :*******
    The connection is made correctly.
    Using BackWPup with:
SSL-FTP connection checked (Use a connection secured by SSL-FTP.)
passive FTP checked or not (Use an FTP connection in passive mode.)
    I have the following errors:
Try to send backup file to an FTP server…
ERROR: Cannot connect via explicit SSL-FTP to server: node18-eu.n0c.com:21
    2. Try to send backup file to an FTP server…
ERROR: Cannot connect via explicit SSL-FTP to server: node18-eu.n0c.com:21
    3. Try to send backup file to an FTP server…
ERROR: Cannot connect via explicit SSL-FTP to server: node18-eu.n0c.com:21
ERROR: Step aborted: too many attempts!
    One old log deleted
ERROR: Job has ended with ……..

    Thanks for your help

    Hi @bicounet

Please try enable Use FTP Passive Mode, I think your FTP server is behind a NAT.

I also tried this option, without success.

I tried to do the same procedure on the same remote server, but on a WordPress on my local machine: and there, it works !

    Hi @bicounet

So this should be related to your server hosting the site! I would suggest you contact the hosting provider to tell the to check if the site can connect to the FTP backup server correctly.

    Answer hosting provider :

Since you’re already able to connect via FileZilla, the server and credentials are likely correct, so focus on the plugin settings and server environment for the issue. Unfortunately, without specific error messages or logs, it’s challenging to provide a precise solution. If you have an error message or log, please provide that for further assistance.

    Hi @bicounet,

I think you could contact your web server’s hosting provider since it caused the issue, not the FTP server since you already successfully connected to the FTP server from your local machine and other web server.
