We recently conducted a server migration for our client to update WordPress, themes, and plugins due to the outdated PHP version on the old server. Utilizing a Bitnami server, we accessed the site using a private IP. Following all necessary modifications, we redirected the DNS to client staging server.

We have two WordPress setups accessible via https://qa.guru.com/help and https://qa.guru.com/blog. Since implementing the DNS changes, the Help setup at https://qa.guru.com/help is functioning correctly. However, the blog setup is currently experiencing issues. The blog site (https://qa.guru.com/blog) is caught in an infinite loop, consistently generating a “Too Many Redirects” error. This problem specifically occurs when accessing the homepage via https://qa.guru.com/blog/. Adding “index.php” to the URL, such as https://qa.guru.com/blog/index.php, resolves the issue.

Notably, all inner and admin pages function correctly. To diagnose the problem, we undertook the following steps:

    • Adjusted the HTACCESS file in various ways, including deletion, to troubleshoot homepage loading.
    • Modified the config file, overwriting site, and homepage URL entries in the database.
    • Altered the permalink structure and flushed it.
    • Switched the theme and deactivated all plugins.
    • Conducted a manual examination of the database, systematically deleting records to identify the problematic component.
    • Verified server redirection and other settings, deactivating them one by one to pinpoint the issue.
    • Temporarily switched the site to a private IP address, discovering that the blog setup, including the homepage, worked correctly.
    • Lastly, established a new WordPress installation with a fresh database and no plugins. However, the issue persisted.
    • Files have 664 permissions, and directories have 775 permissions.
    • Here is the server detail: https://prnt.sc/EQPe6BGw67Bp.
