This plugin is a little different from others in that it can use a shortcode to insert the popup trigger. Others, such as Popup Maker and Popup Builder, use a CSS selector on any element in your page. This is convenient but it means that every popup loads on every page in case it needs to be triggered from there.

My application is for loading a map when a button is clicked, and there might be hundreds of different map popups on various pages of the site. Loading all those ‘just in case’ would be very wasteful, so PAOC wins hands down on inserting only the code that is actually needed.
