• It looks like somewhere along the way, the double right/left arrows that are next to “previous”/”next” have been replaced by a diamond with a question mark in it. I assume this means something like that the system can’t find that character. Any thoughts on how to fix it?

  • Uhhh … this really isn’t a coding issue per se … but a character encoding problem with your browser … If in fact you using HTML characters for your right angle quotes … then the problem is with your browser … not your computer … or the “code”

I’ll add that the diamond thing is in Firefox

If that’s still the case and you are on windows … In Firefox go to Menu >> View >> Character Encoding and set your character encoding correctly … most likely western ISO 8859-1 OR UTF-8 should do the trick …

You know, I’ve never come across a forum post here on WordPress.org that made me a tad bit angry, but this one did. First off, let me say that Edward is correct and anyone who spent five minutes searching on google.com for the solution would have known this. Secondly, I can’t believe a moderator would be so pompous and full of themselves as to say “Oh, yes. You need to learn a lot about classic typography… before questioning the validity of my answers:”. Classic Typography? Do you think because you’re a moderator that you can throw around absolutely idiotic statements when the question at hand was delivered in a nice, clean, intelligent type way? You should be a bit more thankful for having such users who are as swift at getting an exact question out and just trying to dig out a solution.

By the way, thank you Edward.
