Hope someone can help me out here.. I was just looking through my database and notice that I have what appear to be duplicate tables with different prefixes. I think what happened was that I changed the prefix using this plugin, then later deleted the plugin which I think changed the prefix back to wp_ Is that what happens when you delete the plugin? Does the prefix go back to wp_? In any event, I just looked in my wp config file and the current prefix is indeed wp_ When the prefix gets changed, do the system duplicate all the existing tables with the new prefix? If that’s the case, can I drop all the other different prefix tables?

    Hi @mdc2957

If you deactivate or delete the AIOS plugin it does not change prefix back to wp_.

It will keep the changed table prefix in database and in wp-config.php.

Do you have any staging plugin installed it might be the reason or the website copied from another place it can also be the reason.

Yes, please take the backup of the whole DB and keep tables with $table_prefix as per wp-config.php and drop all other tables.

Ah yes, I did have staging set up via a backup plugin I was using (but no longer am as I had troubles with it), so that must be the reason. I Imagine that duplicate tables should have been deleted by that plugin when I removed the staging site, but as noted it was giving me issues. Thanks for the reminder, much appreciated.

I wouldn’t be able to rate the plugin as I did not end up using it, so nothing negative, nor positive to say about the plugin itself. But I appreciate your prompt reply here on the support forum.
