    hi there

correct meif necessary … is the comments box ( ie so your subscribers can comment on your post) the same as the “add contact from ” which is on your post/page area?

I assumed they were two different things contact VS comment?

    Caroline

The contact form and the comments box are two different things…

great so not going crazy !!

then why is my commends box not working? D i need a comments plugin?

Afaik, it is working…click on one of your post titles…this will take you to the single posts page…there you should see the comments box…

OMG – had no idea. Can’t tell you how many hours this newbie has spent trying to fix this.

So my question is now …as a visitor to my site they read the whole post on the blog page – do not know to click the blog title so therefore do not realise they have the opportunity to comment ( just like me!!)

do i need to change my setting so that I only have one full post per page (inc. comments) or make it more like an extract with a read more button which will then take them to that page/comment section??

    thanx

    I’m a newbie as well…so I know your pain… 🙂

Well…most blog sites I have seen (including my own) use the excerpt feature for post lists on the blog page…which makes the visitor click to see more which will automatically take them to the single posts page (I added a read more button at the end of my post excerpts so there is no confusion)…you could possibly add a comment link at the end of your posts, but I see this as becoming tedious to ensure it takes them to the right post…

Afaik, changing to a single post on your blog page will not solve the problem as like I said in my first post, I think the comments are restricted to the single posts page (not the same as the blog page)…but I could be wrong…

Well, I really need to get some sleep as I am nodding off…so others will have to take over from here…far more experienced members than me out there…I’ll check back tomorrow to see how you’ve made out…

Comments are made on a per-post basis. If you had a comments box at the bottom of the post list, which post would the user be commenting on?

An easy solution (if you want it this way) is simply to show the post excerpt, rather than the whole post, so users can see which posts they want to read, rather than having to scan through long pages of text.

    Solved ..perfect thank you!

@carolinetba: glad to see you have it sorted…if your happy, could you mark this topic as resolved?

    Looks good!

I just accessed your site from a mobile and see that you have some sort of mobile plugin that gives a restricted page on a mobile. Note that you don’t need to do this because Customizr already looks great on a mobile (it’s a “responsive” theme).

Thanks electric feet will look into it – i don’t think i installed a mobile plugin but will check!

if I cant find the reason then I will check back into the support forum
