    Search for #sboxImgH{background-color:#fff; in slenderbox.css and replace #fff with the color you prefer.

    Thanks, Matthew, I finally found the right selector. works now.

    working on a local MAMP install, so I can’t show you how it worked out yet. but it looks close to that Sexy Lightbox effect which was my fav until author stopped upgrading the free version.
