• Hi team
About three months ago our plugins would not update unless we refreshed the plugins page between each update. A slow process to update but it worked.

Now we do not see any plugins to update… The page is showing everything is up to date, which I know is incorrect. Doing a bulk update does not work… Uninstalling plugins does not work to find a single plugin conflict. We have the latest wordpress 6.1.1.

This has happened to others with previous WordPress versions

  • Hello,

There can be a possibility of some theme or plugin conflict which may have created an impact that is not allowing you to update the plugins.

See if you can switch to the default theme and check if that helps or else I would suggest you try Health Check plugin once by installing, if the plugin helps you in finding the problem area.

    Thank you!

    Hi,@ttridley

There are several potential causes for this issue, and there are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve it.

First, confirm that you have the correct permissions to update plugins. To do this, ensure you are logged in as a user with the Update plugins capability.

Next, check your WordPress and plugin versions. Ensure that you are using the latest WordPress version, and ensure that all of your plugins are compatible with your current version of WordPress. Outdated versions of WordPress or plugins can cause issues with updating.

It’s also possible that one or more of your plugins is causing a conflict that prevents the updates from being applied. To troubleshoot this, try deactivating all of your plugins and then reactivating them one by one, testing the updates after each plugin is activated to see if the issue is resolved.

Your website’s error logs may also explain why the plugin updates are not being applied. To check your error logs, look for a file called error_log in your website’s root directory.

Finally, other issues with your website could prevent the plugin updates from being applied. For example, if you have low available server resources or your website is experiencing high traffic, this could cause issues with updating plugins.

    Thank you.
