The Analytics hasn’t updated since June 19th 2024; anyone experiencing the same issue?

If not, what could possibly have caused this?

I haven’t changed any setting to do with Analytics, I even checked the Settings to ensure the appropriate “Actionable statuses” are as they should be.

    Hi @alpswaterfilters

Thank you for reaching out — we’re happy to help!

The Analytics hasn’t updated since June 19th 2024

From what I gather, analytics reporting worked as expected at your site, until that date.

Could you please provide us with a screenshot of how things look like now, so that we can see what you are describing?

If you don’t already have a screenshot service installed, https://snipboard.io is a good option — for uploading it there, and sharing the link here afterward.
There is also a walkthrough guide here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/make-a-screenshot/

Moreover, kindly elaborate further on the changes that took place on that date (any plugin/code updates), along with what version of WooCommerce is currently activated at the site.

We look forward to your response. In the meantime, please let us know if you have any further questions or concerns.

Who knows what plugins were updated; most are set to auto-update, and I manually did a whole heap the other day… is there any way to check (any logs) to see when I updated anything?

    Hi @alpswaterfilters,

From our changelog, we can tell you WooCommerce had a release for WooCommerce 9.0.0 on June 18th, this coincides with the date, assuming the last day it tracked was the 18th.

The SSR you shared doesn’t include information about installed plugins / theme. So we can’t tell for sure if there’s a conflict issue with WooCommerce 9.0.0 and above.

I think the best path of action here would be setting up a staging site to run a conflict test there. You can disable all other plugins and run a few test orders to learn if the analytics get updated again. You can also rollback the WooCommerce version to 8.9.3 as an alternative (again, in a staging site).

Kindly let us know if you can perform said tests.

    Thanks!

    Hi again @alpswaterfilters,

Thanks for sharing the active plugins with us. However, could you please confirm if you were able to run a conflict test as requested and make test purchases to see if the issue persisted?

After many hours of testing with WP Staging, I’ve concluded that the staging site itself is disabling something that allows Analytics to work as normal.

I can now create the staging site, navigate to staging site, create an order and import previous orders and analytics is updated, all without disabling any plugin or altering a setting myself.

This is a screen shot of what WP Staging says it’s disabled:

I tried disabling Wordfence on my live site, no change.

I also tried disabling and re-enabling the plugin Comet Cache on the staging, but unsure if that actually enabled WP_CACHE again.

Would it be worth disabling Comet Cache on my live site to check Analytics, and if so, would there be any consequences of doing so?

I also tried disabling and re-enabling the plugin Comet Cache on the staging, but unsure if that actually enabled WP_CACHE again.

While it is possible that the functionality disabled by default on your staging site may point towards where the problem is it’s also possible that background processes are behaving differently on your live and staging site which is why you’re seeing different results.

Would it be worth disabling Comet Cache on my live site to check Analytics, and if so, would there be any consequences of doing so?

I’m not familiar with Comet Cache so I’m not able to say for certain what impact disabling it will have on your live site. However, these types of caching plugins typically perform specific actions to speed up your website and disabling them should not break functionality.

Could you please share your full System Status Report with us? I appreciate you’ve sent a few sections of it so far but so we can get a better understanding of your site as a whole and investigate a few other possible causes it would be useful to have the entire contents.

Please feel free to redact your website URL from the report if you would prefer for that to not be shared publicly.

Weirdly, Analytics started working again. I was even able to import the missing sales that I was previously unable to.

I didn’t change anything, so not sure what has happened/updated, but let’s call this a win for now, and obliviously I’ll keep an on eye it.

Appreciate everyone’s input, and at least I know how to use a staging site now 🙂

    Hello alpswaterfilters

    Thank you for your reply.

I am glad to know that the problem is solved now and analytics are working again.

Just to confirm, was there any update in the plugins or the theme?
Changes like this might have affected the problem and fixed it.

I suggest you monitor the site for some days and let us know if the problems occur again.
We are here for your support. 🙂

    Best regards.
