• Hello guys,

I have a fresh install of wp 4.9.7 here. The add page or links to menu in Appearance > Menus is not working. When I select any page and click on add to menu button it’s having a loading small icon right beside it and after a second it didn’t just add the pages or menu links to the menu. It’s happening all over my hosting accounts. I have a google compute engine vps running on centos 7 and installed Sentora as the web host manager.

    Steps that I already tried:
-Disabled and deleted all the plugins
-Switched to default theme (as it was in already with the fresh install)
-Changed the browser to firefox, edge, opera, chrome
    -deleted my dns cache.
-deleted my pc and browser cache.
-tried on a different pc on a different network.

I don’t think it’s it’s a bug of the wp scripts but something wrong with my web server config.

P.S When I go to customize and customize the site in realtime I can add menus from there but not from the Appearance > Menus

If anyone can guide me to solve the issue would be helpful.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Hi, same problem here!

    Latest version of wordpress.

@tinycoder May I please know you php version?
I’m trying to investigate what could possibly be the root cause of this issue. Please give some more details, clean installation? did you upgrade your php version? are you on a shared host or your own server?

Today I was able to reproduce the issue by upgrading from php 5.4 to PHP 5.6.40 I’m suspecting PHP 5.6.40 is the problem here.

In case anyone is using Sentora and has the same issue.
    Here’s the solution:
    http://forums.sentora.org/showthread.php?tid=4131&pid=30287#pid30287

I have also the same problem. I have tried the same things as yush91 without any results.
I am using the theme Graphy v. 2.3.0 and the latest versions of both WP and Chrome.
    php-version 5.6

Where is the problem? In WP or in the theme?

@kjell-reinedahl did you consider my solution?

    Your browser doesn’t matter anyway.
This issue, as far as I know, is usually caused by server side problems.
Are you using sentore/zpanel or any other administrative panels?
Do you have suhosin on your server?

Also PHP 5.6 is no longer supported. Consider updating your php version, this might solve the problem.

    Thank you, Mohamedh !

I upgraded php to 7.1 and now it´s working. So many hours searching after what was wrong – and so easy to fix it. You just know what to do.

    thank you once again!

    Glad I could help 🙂
