âSome research found that markers appeared to have the tendency to award handwritten essays higher scores than the typed version. This could be because typed essays were often perceived to be shorter than the handwritten version. Also, although typed essays were generally found to be easier to read, surface errors such as spelling and punctuation became more recognisable to markers." âIn the age of AI tutors and personalised learning, our role is increasingly to ensure integrity, reliability, fairness and validity. It will also be important to make sure that assessments reflect the evolving needs of society. For example, we need to stop and ask: are we testing the skills that people are going to need in the future? This is where research plays an important role.â ð ð«ðð§ððð¬ðð ðð¨ð¨ðð°ðð«ð, ðð¥ð¨ððð¥ ððð§ðð ð¢ð§ð ðð¢ð«ðððð¨ð« ðð¨ð« ðð§ð ð¥ð¢ð¬ð¡ ðð ððð¦ðð«ð¢ðð ð ðð§ð¢ð¯ðð«ð¬ð¢ðð² ðð«ðð¬ð¬ & ðð¬ð¬ðð¬ð¬ð¦ðð§ð In a recent 'Teachers Talk Tech' podcast episode, Cambridge's Francesca Woodward and Andreas Schleicher from the OECD discuss big trends to look out for in the future of assessment and other significant milestones on the horizon for English language learning and assessment.
