Who’s Hiring?

Part-Time/Summer Employment/Casual Opportunities

  • Winpak is recruiting for a variety of summer positions and will be attending the UM Annual Career Fair on Wednesday, January 22 from 2 p.m. – 6 p.m. Stop by their booth to learn more about their exciting opportunities, ask questions, and discover what it’s like to work with them. Don’t miss your chance to connect with Winpak and explore your next great summer job!
  • Manitoba Hydro is now recruiting for various summer employment opportunities! To be considered for career-related positions, complete the summer student application questionnaire by January 31. Resumes will be matched to available positions starting February 1. For more information and eligibility details, visit their website. They will also be at the UM Annual Career Fair on both days – stop by their booth!
  • The City of Winnipeg’s Community Services Department is hiring Summer 2025 Recreation Technicians for wading pools, recreation facilities, and preschool, children’s, and youth summer programs. The first step is to submit your online application by March 27. After applying, attend a Recruitment Fair in March for an in-person interview. Visit their website to learn more!   • Part-Time Opportunities at the University of Manitoba. Explore part-time roles across various departments, including Grader/Marker – MATH 2130 (Requisition #37121), Food Services Cook (Requisition #37090), and RLGN 2222 TA (Requisition #37091). Explore these opportunities on UMCareers.

 Full-Time/Co-op/Internships

  • Join the Government of Manitoba – Public Services at the UM Annual Career Fair on Thursday, January 23 from 9:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. They are looking to connect with bilingual students, highlight upcoming bilingual opportunities across various government agencies, and share valuable tips on the application process. Don’t miss this chance to learn more and take the first step toward a rewarding career in public service!
  • Interested in a summer Co-op position at Manitoba Hydro? Submit a student application questionnaire by January 31 to be considered for career-related positions. Visit their website to learn more! Connect with them on both days of the UM Annual Career Fair.
  • AESES is hiring for a Member Services Officer to join their team. If you have skills in problem-solving and analytical thinking, effective communication, and openness to learning and growth, submit your application by February 2!
  • The Link: Youth and Family Supports is eager to meet social science, psychology, and business students at the UM Annual Career Fair on both days of the fair. Stop by their booth to learn more about their impactful work and explore how you can be part of their team!
  • Applications for the 2025 Emerging Leaders Program at Canada Life are now open! If you are a recent graduate or will be graduating by September 2025, apply now for this exciting opportunity!
  • The University of Manitoba is hiring for exciting full-time roles, including Graduate Programs Assistant (Requisition #37115), Animal Technician (Requisition #37111), and an Indigenous Student Advisor (Requisition #37092). Explore these positions and more on UMCareers today!

Career Fairs, Information Sessions, and Conferences

Career Fairs, Information Sessions and Conferences provide an excellent way for you to learn more about your field, to network and to find the opportunities available in it.  Employers attend career fairs and trade show booths to inform students of future opportunities as well as look for talented students/graduates for current positions. Check out these upcoming events!

  • Are you looking to connect with employers and investigate potential opportunities? Are you looking for a summer, part-time or full-time job? Do you want to learn more about graduate and certificate programs? JOIN us for the 2025 UM Career Fair on January 22 and 23, 2025.
  • Join current interns from the MB Legislative Internship on January 23 at 1 p.m. for an exclusive Information Session on the Manitoba Legislative Assembly Internship Program. Don’t miss this chance to learn from those who are living the experience and get insider tips on how to kickstart your career in politics!
  • The Community Solution Education System International Student is hosting a virtual information session for international undergraduate and master’s students interested in pursuing a graduate program. Join them on January 31 at 10 a.m. Visit the UM Connect calendar to learn more and register for this exciting opportunity! They will also be at the UM Annual Career Fair on January 22 – stop by their booth!   • Join the Canada HealthSync Student Innovation Challenge on January 30, 12 a.m.-3 p.m.! Hosted by TECHNATION’s Career Ready Program and NorQuest College, this event invites post-secondary students to develop creative solutions for improving healthcare information sharing. Attend in-person or virtually. Grab your tickets today!
  • Join fellow students on January 30 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. for an Indigenous Create Mixer. Open to all students, this event offers conversations and insights into the Indigenous CREATE funding and training program.
  • Ontario Health at Home North West is hosting a virtual career fair on February 6. If you are passionate about health care and driven by a desire to help others, register by January 27 to learn more about a rewarding career with Ontario Health!
