Such discoveries testify the long-lasting history of this sector of the ancient suburb-formerly crossed by the Auser river course-with a consistent Roman phase. The 2020 campaign has been the first planned stratigraphic excavation of the Pisa Progetto Suburbio research project, aiming to define both the chronology and the nature of the human settlement in the area. The aim of this contribution is to provide a brief description of the stratigraphic sequence and of the data structure of the 2020 investigations, together with the archaeological documentation released in Open Data.

Sc... more During antiquity, the floodplain of Lucca was crossed by numerous branches of the Auser river. Scholars recognised several paleo-channels in the area and proposed different possible paths of the river during the Roman period, relying on the study of place names and documentary sources, on the observation of Lucca's urban plan, on remote sensing, and archaeological excavations. Far from proposing a conclusive reconstruction of Lucca's ancient landscape, this research complements other studies and contributes to strengthening our knowledge of the paleo-fluvial system of the plain. This study aims to test a new methodology-based on logistic regression modelling-for assigning traces of paleo-channels to a given period based on selected geomorphological and archaeological variables.

The long‐term commitment and the remarkable efforts of various private and public stakeholders in support of Cilento Bio‐distretto have produced, over time, a number of interesting results. First, some important progress has been experienced in the development in the Cilento area of the organic sector, both in terms of operator numbers and land area. Second, the establishment of short supply chain outlets like, organic farmers’ markets, organic purchase groups and green public procurement and a number of other initiatives specifically targeting tourists have contributed to create stable market outlets for local organic products, thus meeting farmers’ need for viable market opportunities which was originally the intention of the creation of the Bio‐distretto initiative. Third, through its continued active presence in the area and its multiple initiati...

The investigations carried out between the end of the nineteenth and the first half of the twentieth century left many gaps in the understanding of this monument: its floor plan, the destination of some of its spaces, its relationship with the city context, its dating, which is generically set between the I and the II centuries AD, and the knowledge of its late-antique and medieval life, which were totally ignored in the past. The excavation brought to light new spaces and new data on the building’s architecture; a necropolis occupying the ruins of the building during the late-antiquity was also identified. Finally, the research focused on the medieval and modern buildings that had incorporated the ancient structures, changing several times the urban landsca...

In the study, 18 different application were made at Camarosa strawberry cultivar. The plants were planted as frigo seedlings in the third week of July and irrigated by drip irrigation method. According to the results; ellagic acid contents were ranged from 0.487 to 0.498 mg 100g-1 and there were no significant differences among values. Nitrate contens were ranged from 1.43 to 4.57 mg kg-1 and there were significant differences among values.

Social, environmental, economic as well as ethical dimensions are involved. Eco-Regions are quickly growing in number in the EU and worldwide; different Eco-Regions types emerged, showing a variety of cultural, physical, socioeconomic characteristics, and related policies and regulations. The Eco-Regions represent an innovative sustainable integrated rural development approach; their success can be supported by analyzing their basic features and their development dynamics. A balance between a strictly centralized and bureaucratic Eco-Regions management and a bottom-up non-regulated Eco-Regions proliferation should be provided to grant the development of community-based resilient initiatives. To this end a monitoring tool, based on the Porter's Diamond model, involving the local actors in analyzing the Eco-Regions structure and performances, could provide useful. Previous studies defined an Eco-Region monitoring tool, where different shortcomings characterized the analytical framework definition. The goal of the present paper is therefore to define an improved monitoring tool, more consistent to the Porter's Diamond model by reviewing the cluster related literature, focusing on the Porter's approach. The integrations resulting from the literature analysis contributed to a major increase in the indicators directly related to the original Porter's approach; new food security and sovereignty, as well as specifically designed sustainability indicators have also been added. By expanding the pool of indicators, the monitoring tool is more adaptive and able to support sustainable management of Eco-Regions in different contexts.

This significantly increased the ability of US to detect and characterize focal liver lesions. The aim of this review article is to evaluate the role of contrast enhancement US in the diagnosis of hepatocellular carcinoma in cirrhotic liver, with reference to the guidelines of American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases, European Association for the Study of the Liver and European Federation of Societies for Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology.

Design/methodology/approach For the survey, a questionnaire was prepared in English and Portuguese and then translated into the languages of the participating countries. It was delivered electronically for answering online by adults only. The participation was voluntary and in the end 133 consented valid questionnaires were obtained. For the treatment of the data, SPSS was used and basic descriptive statistics tools were applied, together with tests, namely, crosstabs and χ2 tests, considering a level of significance of 5 percent. Findings The results showed that the majority of the participants presently have some agricultural activity and one-third is thinking about starting one in the future. Most of the participants want to produce food or...

Singly truncated from below Normal Weibull mixture distribution and a linear combination of von Mises distributions are used to model wind speed and direction. Sites with heterogeneous local conditions (prevailing wind direction and/or elevation) have been considered in order to investigate the reliability of the model here taken into consideration.
