Abstract I: Appendix 16 deals with a delicate love story between two young people. The argument is rare in Phaedrus. The structure is dramatic and it can be divided into five scenes. It is possible to note the influence of Catullus’c.61 on the wedding procession (vv.6-10) and of Virgil (Aen.4,160 ss.) on the tempest scene (vv.15-20). The presence of a magical donkey connects the fable with ancient greek novel. Some details are common with declamatory texts.
