In this study, a critical analysis of the future of railway transportation in the Gulf Cooperatio... more In this study, a critical analysis of the future of railway transportation in the Gulf Cooperation Council Member Countries is aimed, based on the opinions of experts, professionals etc. both nationally and regionally. The opinions of academicians, experts, public officials, and professionals obtained from secondary data sources were thematized, interpreted and classified using SWOT Analysis. The outcomes of the study provide a decisionmaking and operational framework within a broad perspective for the Gulf Region, where there is not yet sufficient research and study. As a result of the analysis, aside from the clear strengths and opportunities of the railways against other modes, it seems that, the Gulf Cooperation Council has a more challenging start and process management as well as tougher competitors than the European Union, which is the source of inspiration and motivation in regional railway network. In this context, nationwide projects of member countries seem more forward-looking and promising than the Gulf railway corridor project.

Soz konusu etkenlerin capraz bir sekilde sinanmasi icin, Turkiye’de kullanilan dort tip ulastirma araci da degerlendirmeye dahil edilmistir. Turizm ve Seyahat Isletmeciligi alanindaki 33 akademisyenin panelist olarak katildigi iki turlu bir Delfi Sorgulama Paneli duzenlenmistir. Sorgulamada kullanilan, on dort etkenin tamami, daha genis olcekli bir arastirmada kullanilabilecek duzeyde tutarli sonuclar vermistir. Trenler guvenlik, ekonomiklik, sosyallik ve cevreyle dost olma etkenlerinde diger ulastirma araclarina gore en iyi durumdadirlar. Dakiklik, konfor, cografya ve altyapi, hizmet, erisilebilirlik, hiz, mesafe, esneklik ve prestij gibi etkenlerde ise en zayif durumdadir. An Integrated Forecasting Approach for Hotels

It was aimed to search to be able to forecast the crises which arise from demand fluctuations, an... more It was aimed to search to be able to forecast the crises which arise from demand fluctuations, and to able to generate a systematic and dynamic process in the hotel businesses. In the quantitative period, forecasting was realized to 149 monthly series of a five star hotel in Ankara via MA, Simple, Holt's, Winter's Exponential Smoothing and ARIMA. The results of these methods were compared by some error measures. At the other side of integration, two Delphi based inquiry panels were realized: The Variables Determination Panel and The Environmental Monitoring Panel. The opinions of second group panelists were used to adjust Winter's Multiplicative forecasts via AHP based approach. This process shows that, if the forecasting and adjustment process is applied to hotels monthly, it will be useful for crises arised from demand fluctuations in hotelbusiness. The most important characteristic of model is being elasticity for change and development.

Süreç yönetimi yaklaşımıyla ortaya konan bu modelin, teorik bilgiye katkısı, kritik ve analitik düşünmeyi aynı metodolojide birleştirmek olarak özetlenebilirken, buna ilave olarak bireys el ve bilişsel b i r süreç olan kritik ve analitik düşünme metodolojisini, organik ve sistematik bir karar alma ve yönetim süreci o l a ra k sunması da sivil toplum kuruluşları için uygulamaya dönük bir katkı olarak kabul edilebilir.

As an innovative approach, it is so difficult to generalize the circular solutions for tourism economies in paradoxical context. On one hand, stimulating tourists to spend more, while minimizing wastes as low as possible on the other hand. Recent indicators of circularity performance based on energy, resources, commodities; localization, global relationships and regenerative product design, new business models, reverse logistics and enabling communication technologies. By reviewing best practices in global context, the study focuses on Omani tourism circularity performance.

Business Plan Perceptions and Experiences of Entrepreneurship Students in Oman

Feasibility Study or Business Plan (B-Plan) is inseparable component of many entrepreneurship pro... more Feasibility Study or Business Plan (B-Plan) is inseparable component of many entrepreneurship programs at higher education level. In parallel, B-Plan is weighted component of The Entrepreneurship Module which has been offered commonly at all higher education institutions past 8 years in Oman. In this study, it is aimed to analyze perception and experiences of B-Plan by the perspectives of the students who studied Entrepreneurship and prepared B-Plan. Design/method/approach-Accordingly, the research has been designed to analyze B-Plan perceptions and experiences of the students from various programs and major at higher education level. As research method, the survey has been conducted with 562 students from Medicine, IT, Business, Engineering, Nursing majors and programs which commonly offering same Entrepreneurship Module at public and private HEIs in Oman. Findings-Some findings have confirmed significant differences of perceptions and experiences by gender and program. Regardless of gender and program, all participants were agree on that the most difficult part of B-Plan is financial management. What the most liked of B-Plan are teamwork, innovating, creating revenues. What the most disliked of B-Plan are financial management, business entitle, fundraising. Bigger team size negatively affects B-Plan perceptions/experiences. Males are capitalizing their B-Plan relatively higher than females. Females are more positive than males any perception and experiences on B-Plan. Discussion-There are considerable outcomes to revise and restructure B-Plan in Entrepreneurship Module in Oman and similar contexts as well. The students are not fully persuaded about why B-Plan required and confident enough to prepare B-Plan. The business plan (hereafter B-Plan) is a central part of the module which has been offered commonly at all higher education institutions since 2014 in Oman. Its` development and execution is a critical applied component. One of the learning objectives of the module is develop clear and structured B-Plan, while one of the learning outcomes has been defined as articulate and write up a basic B-Plan. Learning strategy of the course has been developed by course developers as , `B-Plan can be linked to student activities at the educational institutions such that best plan will be awarded an opportunity to compete in local, national and international programs` (MoHE, 2015: 35).

Bu çalışmada; et ürünlerinin nihai alıcı ile buluştuğu marketlerde, üretici/pazarlamacı işletmele... more Bu çalışmada; et ürünlerinin nihai alıcı ile buluştuğu marketlerde, üretici/pazarlamacı işletmeler tarafından yaygın kullanılan ve ürün örneklerinin denemek üzere alıcılara sunulduğu bir satış tutundurma aracı olan "ürün tadım panellerinin" tüketicilerin marka ve üretici ile ilgili algıları üzerinde bir etkisinin olup olmadığını ortaya koymak amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmanın amacına ulaşabilmek için tat panellerin bulunduğu marketler ve tat panelsiz marketler olmak üzere iki ayrı sorgu ortamı belirlenmiş ve bireylerden görüş alındığı bir tanımlama araştırması yapılmıştır. Araştırma sonunda, sorgu türlerine bağlı olarak markadan haberdar olma durumu, markaya bağlı çağrışımlar, başka markalarla ilişkilendirilmesi, marka geçmişi, üretici firma ile ilgili görüşlerin anlamlı bir şekilde farklılık gösterdiği saptanmıştır.

This study aimed to describe knowledge, attitudes, perception and behavior of getting started (16... more This study aimed to describe knowledge, attitudes, perception and behavior of getting started (16-25) age group towards Halal concept in Oman. The study has been designed as descriptive survey to collect quantitative data from primary sources via e-questionnaire. Convenience sampling method was selected due to COVID-19 conditions during data collection. The study demonstrated that the self-identity of young Omani consumers and their religious views does not influence their impression of halal items considerably. Even young Omani consumers do not considerably influence their intention to buy halal products in respect of halal certified products. Yet young Omani customers have considerable influence on their awareness of halal products, their religious commitment and belief. However, young Omani consumers' individual innovation with their understanding of Halal certified products has not shown any substantial impact on Omani's young consumers' attitude towards Halal items.

The literature pertaining to Oman&amp;#39;s tourism industry was thoroughly reviewed and for quantitative method, a survey questionnaire was prepared for 152 representatives from tourism management companies such as public and private tourism associations, department of tourism and centres for tourism development, tourism-related organizations such as department of planning and investment, department of finance, department of information and communications and representatives from local authorities of Oman. Overall, the study found that partnerships between private and public organizations functioning in Oman&amp;#39;s tourist industry can help to speed up the industry&amp;#39;s recovery. Based on the findings, this study provides some contributions to tourism polıcy makers to better understand the effects of the COVID 19 pandemic on Oman Tourism, to help create measures that can increase the positive results of the tourism industry for the post-pandemic period, and to develop more effective instruments.
