In reply to: [Better Search Replace] An error occurred processing your request.Hi there!
Better Search Replace Support Team here, Thanks for reaching out with your query we would be happy to assist.
Have you lowered yourMax Page Size
setting to it’s lowest possible value of 1000? If not, kindly try that first and see if that helps.If the issue persists, can you please try editing your wp-config.php file on your server to replace this line –
define( ‘WP_DEBUG’, false );
With these lines –
define(‘WP_DEBUG’, true);
define(‘WP_DEBUG_LOG’, true);
define(‘WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY’, false);This will cause all runtime errors, warnings, and notices to be written to
/wp-content/debug.log
, which will hopefully yield some better information about what’s going on.Then try the process again and check the
debug.log
file if created and see if you can find more details about what might be causing this issue.More information about that here: https://wordpress.org/support/article/editing-wp-config-php/#wp_debug
Thanks!

In reply to: [Better Search Replace] Wildcard Characters AvailableHi there!
Better Search Replace Support Team here, Thanks for reaching out with your query we would be happy to assist.
Wildcard isn’t supported with Better Search Replace (free or pro), but one of our other plugins, WP Migrate, supports regular expressions in its Find & Replace tool: https://deliciousbrains.com/wp-migrate-db-pro/doc/find-and-replace/#regex-find-replace. You can search URLs and texts with regular expressions.

In reply to: [WP Migrate Lite - WordPress Migration Made Easy] gateway time-out errorHi there!
WP Migrate Support Team here, Thanks for reaching out with your query we would be happy to assist.
It sounds like you may be getting a server error during your migration. Can you please take a look at your server’s error logs and check for any relevant entries? More information about server errors, why they occur, and where you can find your logs can be found in this doc: https://deliciousbrains.com/wp-migrate-db-pro/doc/500-internal-server-errors/

In reply to: [Better Search Replace] remove unwanted strings at the end of URLHi @kjam ,
Better Search Replace Support Team here. Apologies for the delay. That is currently not possible with Better Search Replace. However, our other plugin WP Migrate supports regular expressions on its Find & Replace tool.
https://deliciousbrains.com/wp-migrate-db-pro/doc/find-and-replace/#regex-find-replace
You can use regular expressions to find strings using a pattern. The regular expression feature is only available on the Pro version of the plugin.

Hi @wiitigoo ,
Better Search Replace Support Team here. I tested this on my local site, and in my case when I used the Ⓡ symbol itself in the Search field, BSR was able to return the test post where I used the symbol.
Could you try it on your site to see if it works? I would also recommend checking the wp_posts table directly in the database to see how your WordPress site is saving the symbol in the database.
Let us know if you have any other concerns.

In reply to: [Better Search Replace] Not Finding Value in wp_postmeta TableHi @itsgotime ,
Better Search Replace Support Team here. I tried replicating this issue on my local site by creating a custom postmeta record with meta_value 1767225600, then running a Search/Replace. However, I was not able to replicate the issue. BSR was able to find the Unix timestamp.
See screen recording: https://share.getcloudapp.com/z8uGrp1X
Not sure yet why BSR wasn’t able to find it on your postmeta table. Could you ensure that the search and replace parameters are different? When I accidentally run a search/replace with the same parameters, I got the message “DRY RUN: 1 tables were searched, 0 cells were found that need to be updated, and 0 changes were made.”
Also, is the timestamp inside some serialized data? Maybe it only looks like that the values is 1767225600 but maybe there’s some hidden characters saved in the database.
It’s also possible that there’s a plugin conflict. I would recommend temporarily switching your theme to a default WordPress theme like Twenty Twenty, or deactivating all your other plugins until the issue goes away.
Let us know if you have any other questions.
Hi @hemligg ,
WP Offload Support Team here. Apologies for the delay. Yes you may do that, however, you may lose some of the features that are only found in the Pro version. You may check the page below for the differences between Pro and Lite.
Hi @tebmu45 ,
Thanks for the additional information. Regarding the “staging environment” message at the bottom of your site, this doesn’t sound like a part of WP Migrate.
WP Migrate does not add anything new to a migrated site. It migrates database (and files on the Pro version), based on your selection. It also does a Find and Replace on your database so that you can automatically replace your old domain with your new domain.
The message might be coming from somewhere else, perhaps a plugin from GoDaddy that detects something in your database, or in your wp-config.php file.
“Is there some sort of connection between your plugin being installed in the subdomain and main domain. How do I DISCONNECT the connection that is shared because of WP Migrate plugin? Is this done in the database? Is this done by deleting your plugin from the subfolder? Please advise…”
— There is only a connection during a migration process. Once the migration finishes, the connection between the two sites are disconnected. No need to delete the plugin or do anything else.“This is the problem that I have and probably why it failed. What does one need to do to reverse or fix this problem once it has been attempted?”
— WP Migrate currently does not have a way to reverse a migration. If the site is somehow broken after a migration, we recommend restoring a backup copy of the site.By the way you mentioned migrating Plugin files. If you have an active license with us, you may use the Help tab on the WP Migrate page on your site to contact us if you have any other questions.

In reply to: [Better Search Replace] Dry Run Results Not ShowingHi @mhamblin6703!
Better Search Replace Support Team here. Thanks for reaching out with your query, we would be happy to assist.
We tried doing a dry run on our test site with the latest version of the plugin. Sadly, we weren’t able to replicate the issue. Something from your site configuration could be affecting the plugin’s behavior.
It might be best to check the error logs to see if there’s anything listed related to the issue. Another thing would be to enable WP debug, before trying another search again.
It might also be worth looking at Tools > Site Health on the admin dashboard to see if there are any critical issues flagged.
If you find anything, you may contact your web developer for assistance. If the issue is server related, you may reach out to your hosting provider.

If you’re using a staging plugin, it might be best to disable the warning. Otherwise, there are some hosting providers that include a staging site. If this is the case for your host, you may want to reach out to them for assistance.
