In reply to: Search on our website shows wrong imageThanks for your quick responses.
1) Disabling all plugins and changing the theme is not a practical thing to do on a website that is live.
2) As I said in my post, the page does NOT have a featured image (none of our pages do, as having a featured image does not seem useful in our non-blog website — we don’t use posts). However, I made the needed photo be the featured image for the page and that did indeed fix the problem.
Is there any way of saying ‘use the first image in the page if there is no featured image’? I’m assuming that the search produces an ‘excerpt’ of the page (even though, by default, only posts have excerpts). What I really need is a true extract of the first part of the page, including any image there.Be sure to look in your email target’s SPAM or Junk folders. It’s common for them to be silently reassigned there.
Also, look at your website logs (where they are probably depends on your hosting provider) to see whether your emails are getting rejected.
We had problems a while back with certain email targets rejecting emails from our website — in particular, @comcast.net and @aol.com . It’s been a while, but I believe I had to set up DMARC, to allow the receiving email provider to be able to verify that your email was indeed from the domain it was claiming to be in. See, for example, https://wpengine.com/support/dmarc-best-practices-get-email-inbox/
FWIW, this is what Dreamhost had to say in response to a ticket I opened on the matter:

I loaded the URL of https://souheganvalleychorus.org/ in several web
browsers and the site did load. When I selected one of the navigation
links (ie. under ‘Events’, ‘Fundraising’, ‘Rehearsals’ etc), that is when
I was able to replicate the warning/error you provided :Warning: require_once(wfScanEngine.php): failed to open stream: No such
file or directory in
/home/svc1/souheganvalleychorus.org/wp-content/plugins/wordfence/lib/wordfenceCl ass.php
on line 3Fatal error: require_once(): Failed opening required ‘wfScanEngine.php’
(include_path=’.:/usr/local/lib/php:/usr/local/php5/lib/pear’) in
/home/svc1/souheganvalleychorus.org/wp-content/plugins/wordfence/lib/wordfenceCl ass.php
on line 3These warning messages indicate the plugin named ‘wordfence’ is causing
these warning messages to occur. It is possible the wordfence plugin is
corrupted causing these errors occur.Forum: Reviews
In reply to: [WP Fastest Cache] Prevented me from logging into my siteThank you!
Anyone? I hope I wasn’t too long in my explanation?
This seems to be a common requirement. Can anyone help me figure it out?
Thanks!

See https://wordpress.org/support/topic/plugin-conflict-discovered-2/ for details.
Thank you for the very fast response!
The problem does indeed appear to be fixed.
Thanks!

In reply to: [Black Studio TinyMCE Widget] Plugin Conflict discoveredI have posted a reference to this forum post in the forum for the “Photonic Gallery for Flickr, Picasa, SmugMug, 500px, Zenfolio and Instagram” plugin, with a request that they work with you to resolve the conflict.

In reply to: [Download Monitor] Open file (pdf) in browserIn particular, Google Chrome opens a PDF file (any PDF file) when a link to it is clicked. Unfortunately, the URL your plugin provides does not, apparently, provide enough information about the MIME type of the document.
I’d love to find out if there’s a way of doing this.

In reply to: Warnings suddenly appearedThe warnings seem to have disappeared. I don’t know why, but there have been several WordPress core upgrades, so maybe that was it?

In reply to: Warnings suddenly appearedIncidentally, I have the following set in my wp-config.php file:
define(‘WP_DEBUG’, false);

In reply to: [WP101 Video Tutorial Plugin] WP101 Install archive corrupt? Thanks, Shawn!
Now, when I go to Add Plugin, it tells me that it was updated 3 days ago (as opposed to 46 years ago 8^) ), so it looks better.
Since I already have it installed and don’t want to disturb that installation, I’ll just assume that it works.

In reply to: [WP101 Video Tutorial Plugin] WP101 Install archive corrupt?Note that this is when I try to install the plugin using the standard WordPress plugin installation procedure. That is, not by explicitly uploading a ZIP file.
