  • Please forgive my ignorance as I’ve only recently been handed the admin reigns for WordPress. Does this security update only affect WP 2.3? I’m currently running 2.2.2 and have plans to upgrade to 2.3 in the near future.

    Thanks in advance.

I have just downloaded and ftp-ed all the new wp-files into my directory.

Now I can’t seem to get to the wp-admin/upgrade.php page, and my website is not available either.

there is no 404 error page or anything at all

    my website is http://www.cleopatrathelabrador.com

    Did anyone else experience this?

Hm, I thought a similar problem was described in this thread, but I must have seen it somewhere else. Anyway, did you deactivate your plugins before uploading the new WP? From what version ‘did you come’? With some bad luck either a plugin or your theme may not work with 2.3.2 (I had similar problem when I upgraded from 2.1.3 to 2.2 since my theme wasn’t supported by 2.2, so I downloaded the latest version and the problem was solved). If your admin panel works, try deactivating your plugins (otherwise, delete them using FTP), change theme to default, if necessary, upload 2.3.2 again and if your site remains blank, hopefully one of the moderators will drop in…

    Hi…

really appreciate you taking time to answer my questions.

I had de-activated the plugins before uploading 2.3.2… and I upgraded from 2.3.1…

My admin panel doesn’t work either… So if it’s a theme problem how do I set my site to the default theme? I’m using rounded-v2-purple-edition-10 for my theme.

If your dashboard is empty too, it can’t be your theme. Also it can’t be your plugins, so the only thing I can imagine is that some ‘hickup’ occured during FTP’ing and some file got croocked. Did you already try to upload 2.3.2 again? Otherwise, you can also completely delete the WP files (if you don’t touch the database, little can go wrong) and upload and install from scratch.
    Maybe someone else has suggestions?

-> addition. I notice that your server doesn’t respond at all, it doesn’t even generate error pages and that has nothing to do with WP! Whatever is typed as address, results in a “ready” blank page, even http://www.cleopatrathelabrador.com/blablabla, which I don’t suppose was a page of yours. I fear there’s something more going on. Did you try to access your hosting control panel? Can you access your server using FTP? Maybe more is down than just WP…

I can access my hosting panel and all was fine until I updated the WP files… Hmmm maybe I should try to FTP the files again?

That’s always an option, but I find it strange that your server doesn’t spit out standard error pages, since that has nothing to do with WP whatsoever.
What if you delete WP using FTP, does the server come back to normal? (Try an index.html just to find out.)

    hi again

    Just noticed something

    if I type

http://cleopatrathelabrador.com I can access my page, but now with http://www.cleopatrathelabrador.com

Any ideas? My host is pretty useless with help…

    sorry… but NOT with http://www.cleopatrathelabrador.com

    Hi again

Hmmm everything seems to be fine now… this is really weird…

You were probably right in that maybe my host was down… and all that worrying for nothing…

thanks a million for taking the time to answer all my questions… really appreciate it…

Stop by my site and tell me what you think… 🙂 still quite the newbie…

Is it possible to find version 2.3.1 to re-download it?

I have upgraded to 2.3.2 and all of my blogs are doggedly slow all of the sudden.

I would like to put one back to 2.3.1 to see if the issue goes away.

Is there a place to download previous versions?

Gosh this upgrade is going to be the death of me…

Now I cannot “post” new entries cause the post container is not active… I can key in the title of a post but cannot actually write anything.

My browser says “Done with errors on page”

    Help… someone…please…

There’s still no WordPress 2.3.2 update at Fantastico.

I posted about this five days ago. If anyone at WordPress or Bluehost, or Fantastico is listening, I’d be delighted to upgrade in the one-click way the ads on the WordPress.org site recommend please!

    Gav

This is all new to me and I feel like I’m in over my head. I tried to follow the instructions to upgrade, but still get a message telling me to upgrade. Since I’ve done nothing so fa on my site, how can I tell if I upgraded correctly. AND – is there a simpler way?

Anyone has an answer for this question?
