After updating the Burst Statistics plugin to version 1.3.3, referrers are not displayed. Other data is displayed.
Please advise how to fix this problem. Thank you.

    Hi @hamil1,

Sorry for the late reply. Weird the issue returned.

Are there any errors in the console or the error log?

Can you check in the database if there are referrers?

    Kind regards,
    Hessel

    Hi @hesseldejong
I don’t see any bugs in the console.

How do I find referrers in the database?

    I activated debug.log:

    Hi @hamil1,

It seems to me that you’re database is corrupt. Did you change the database prefix?

    Kind regards,
    Hessel

    (@hamil1)

    Hi @hesseldejong,

I did not change the database prefix. However, I have converted the MySQL database from version 5.6.51 to 5.7.21.
On the other site, I converted the MariaDB database from version 10.1.44 to 10.3.32. Here is the error message:

    [03-Feb-2023 15:18:52 UTC] WordPress database error Table ‘d51126_kocka4.substring’ doesn’t exist for query SHOW FULL COLUMNS FROM substring made by require(‘wp-blog-header.php’), wp, WP->main, WP->parse_request, do_action_ref_array(‘parse_request’), WP_Hook->do_action, WP_Hook->apply_filters, rest_api_loaded, WP_REST_Server->serve_request, WP_REST_Server->dispatch, WP_REST_Server->respond_to_request, burst_get_data, burst_statistics->get_today_data

The sites are on different hosting and have a different type of database. Yet the same error occurred.
Is there any way to modify the database?

Today I installed the Burst plugin on another site with an old version of the database. I will report tomorrow if the referrers are showing up.

    Hi @hesseldejong,
new installation of the Burst plugin on https://www.pribrat.cz/. Referrers are also not showing up. Database version 5.6.51 not updated. When the site was created a few years ago, the database prefix was changed.
I cannot provide an error message because the debug.log file is not being written to. I will address this with hosting support.

    I’m adding an error message:

    Hi @hamil1,

I’m kind of lost on where to go from here. The error is confusing because we don’t use a query like this in Burst.

Can you check in the database if the burst tables are there?
    {prefix}_burst_statistics
    {prefix}_burst_sessions
    {prefix}_burst_goals

    Kind regards,
    Hessel

    (@hamil1)

    Hi @hesseldejong,

Yes, all these tables are in the database.

No one else is reporting this problem? I don’t understand why it only appears on my sites. I have everything updated, I use simple templates with a large number of installs. I also have the usual plugins. I don’t interfere with the site code.
I recently switched from php 7.4 to php 8.0. Could this be somehow related?

    Hi @hamil1,

Unfortunately, no one else on the forums or in our mailbox is experiencing this issue. We also can’t reproduce it on our websites.

PHP 8.0 should work without any problems. I don’t see another reason why it should not work.

Could you maybe share the template with us? And possibly a list of plugins. You can email that to us at support[at]burst-statistics.com

I hope this way we can reproduce the issue.

    Kind regards,
    Hessel

    Hi @hesseldejong,

    Hi @exidaco,

We’re still investigating this issue with Hamil. We assume it is a conflict with another plugin.

The issue you are facing might be caused by something different than Hamil. To check what plugin is causing the issue, you can install and activate “Health Check”: https://wordpress.org/plugins/health-check/
It will add some additional features under the menu item under Tools > Site Health.

On its troubleshooting tab, you can Enable Troubleshooting Mode. This will disable all plugins, switch to a standard WordPress theme (if available), allow you to turn your plugins on and off and switch between themes, without affecting normal visitors to your site. This allows you to see where the issue is located.

I would start and only activate Burst (Make sure you are on the latest version 1.3.4). This way you can see if the issue is within Burst or is caused by another plugin. You can start enabling plugins one by one and check if the referrers are not showing up anymore.

Please let us know if you find a conflicting plugin or if with only Burst enabled the issue still remains.

    Kind regards,
    Hessel

    Hi @fatfirewoman,

I’m not sure what your issue is. Are your referrers not showing up in Burst? Or in Google Analytics, if in Analytics we can’t help you over here.

    Please let me know.

    Kind regards,
    Hessel
