Unlock the Mysteries of OSHA’s Lockout/Tagout Rule Webinar
June 14, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am
Five Reasons to Get LOTO Right, Five Mistakes Employers Make That Result in Citations & How to Audit Your LOTO Program
OSHA’S Lockout/Tagout (Hazardous Energy Control) Standard is always one of OSHA’s most frequently cited standards in general industry but particularly for manufacturers. It is also one of OSHA’s most misunderstood and misapplied standards. While many LOTO inspections result from amputations reported to OSHA, Illinois manufacturers may also receive a visit from OSHA as part of the agency’s “Hazardous Machinery (Amputations) National Emphasis Program”. Given the fact that LOTO violations are considered “high emphasis hazards” that qualify employers into the Severe Violator Enforcement Program, it is critical for employers to get Lockout/Tagout right.
This webinar will highlight the most frequently cited aspects of the LOTO rule, explain some of the most misunderstood provisions of the rule, and review some simple steps you can take to improve your LOTO program.
Participants in this webinar will learn:
- How to conduct a Safety Audit
- Common mistakes employers make implementing LOTO programs, such as failing to train employees, missing certain sources of hazardous energy and Group LOTO
- Nuances of the requirements to develop machine specific LOTO procedures, and share them with contractors working at your site
- The mystery behind the Minor Servicing Exception
- Inadequate and/or ignored periodic inspections
